Where to get bicycles?

Any place, my 1 month old bike (300>250) at Canadian Tire got stolen. Thank god for the AMEX Platinum Costco card there is insurance before 90 days of purchase... so basically looking for a nice bike around 350-400 max and any ideas to make it safe (register?) along with the Kryptonite ULock with theft coverage! So any ideas? Preferably brand new bike.

i got my bike for free too ... it's my daily transportation when i'm in school ... =)

don't buy from canadian tire. if ur gonna spend that much on a bike, go to a professional bike store. look in the yellow pages .. there's tons of stores and u can always ask for a discount. give it a try ...

bike depot (on yonge), trail blazer, broadway, etc...
you can find many independent dealers willing to give you a decent deal with the amount you're willing to spend.
forget about wasting money on u-lock. like cars, if someone wants your bike, they'll take your bike. i never ever leave my ride unattended...

I go to Burl's Cycle, Pharmacy and Sheppard. Used to anyway, haven't been there in a long time.

DO NOT buy a bike from crappy tire. geez, u're spending that much on a bike, get a REAL one!

lol the story of how his bike got stolen is sad yet very funny
yea city of markham is sad
espicially near pacific

My friends 3 sweet bikes were all gone same day, I was lucky not riding my bros bike (it had a flat tire, I was like wow it saved the bike!) but nooo here comes monday and its GONE!

Yet they left my friends bike , and his bike is alright just no shocks at the back.

Oh well at least we get the money back so no real loss but a lock
