Decided what coilovers to get: KW's
Just ordered my KW's direct, with the EPhatch discount - $1150 shipped. Should get them next weekend he said. Talked with Glen - he said that there really isn't an issue with using them on a EM2 vs the EP3....Can't wait to see what they look like!

I'll try and take pics of the whole process, since I am going to try and upgrade the bushings (front and rear) with energy suspension poly bushings. The bushings actually came thursday! Now all I need to do is get the coilovers!
damn man, I ordered mine going on 3 weeks ago monday, and still haven't seen them
first batch should be coming in soon I hope :-/ If yours were promised by next weekend, I hope mine will be here by then too... :-/

Quality wise, they're stainless steel, but there's alot more that goes under the "quality" category, so we'll just have to see, but my best guess is they're at least up there with tein and B+G, if not better. KW at least gives technical data on their items, like the give charts on their rebound, and spring rates (which B+G doesn't).
I paid 1275$ originally, but am going to be getting a check for the difference of the ephatch offer for 1150$ since I ordered before they came out with that stellar discount. Ocelaris

I don't think any of us have or will receive them until this weekend - I believe they stated that the first batch would go out on the 9th, and we should receive them on Friday. After that - the 16th.
Incidentally, speaking with Glen from KW, he said that most of these are hard to come by in the US since most of the applications which they make them for are european, specifically german (which is why most people haven't heard of them)

opto_isolator,
I ordered mine quite a bit before you I think, and was supposed to get mine last week monday, so they rush shipped me some from germany, so mine didn't come with the regular KW shipment for ephatch's groupbuy... so I would expect yours before this weekend like glenn said, now that they have them coming in from germany I bet they'll be quick getting them to you.
sexcivic2k1, they're bright yellow and purple, the KW colors, and stainless steel colored, that was a quick pick I snapped when I just opened the box, not great lighting... I'll be taking some more pics throughout the day if I remember. Ocelaris

I dropped the spring perch in front 1.5" from the bottom, in the back 1" from the bottom (of the threads). I have 1 finger in the back, and 1/2 finger in the front.
Haven't driven it much, maybe 15 minutes, but it drives fine with the exception of the killer front understeer from bad camber... I managed to get the back set pretty straight, but the front is a little more complicated, and wanted to drive her as soon as her wheels touched the ground
So far so good, no scraping, but I won't be able to do alot of driving until tonight, probably headed up to Rockville, MD if anyone goes there...
Ride is good, stiff, but I'm not quite please because i feel like I'm driving on rails... I'll adjust that after work.

Where don't you see a dust cover? It's right below the bump stop.. the black thing, it just happens to be bumped up a little in the pic... I'll remember to move it back down, or I'm sure it'll get knocked down sooner or later when I hit a pot hole.
Definetly not as big a dust boot, but it's only needed to cover below the bump stop... remember stainless steel too...

stainless steel or not, you don't want to get sand or debris up there and get it scratched. compare it to the stock suspension or even my Tein's you don't see the shock pole at all. it keeps it completely concealed. besides i believe all shock poles are stainless or corrosion resistant.
see how the dust cover completely hides the pole on the fronts!.. (the rears use the stock dust cover so it hadn't been put on yet.)

hmm... curious, must be some reason for not having a dust boot... It said in the insructions to discard the stock one... Though for the record I consider the black part connecting to the bump stop a dust boot, and I'm betting the part that is covered that is important in keeping the shock lubed... though it would be nice to have the entire rod covered
Here's a Q, do shocks make a noise when you hit a bump or something? like a "tssss" almost like a waste gate on a turbo , I mean it's not loud, but don't remember that sound before either...
Are those the TEIN SS ? Have you gotten your camber kit installed? Just wondering any tips on the front adjustment, I did apretty good job with a level on the back, but need to adjust the fronts some, I mean I know the general process, but any tips would help. Alignment will happen in a week or so once I decide the final height, probably too low right now.
