Please help... screws stuck in air filter housing

Sup guys.. i've been getting my oil changed at jiffy lube and when they were changing the air filter, i think they screwed the screws in soo tight that they messed up the grooves. Now i cant take the cover off to replace my air filter. Any suggestions on how to take these screws out? I tried greasing it up but nothing, the screws would just turn but not go up. please help

usse ur finger nail and place it right under the screw head...as you turn the screw with a screwdriver to take it out, pull up with the finger nail.

Do F**K around with it. Let a mechanic touch it and send Jiffy Lube the bill. They are responsible for it.

Best recomendation I have is to try to pull them out with a pair of needlenose pliers, pull up while you turn them. It does kinda sound like they tightened them too much, and broke the bolt free from the plastic surround, so pulling up might have enough friction to hold the bolt in place while you turn the nut.

I had this exact same problem, but only one of the screws, of course it was the one in the back that was the least accesible. However, jiffy lube didnt screw it up, the dealership did. I just kept at it for a while and pretty much pried the screw up till it became loose enough to undo. Frankly, the dealer would have done the samething if I took it there

Firestone did the same sh*t to with my screws.... however 1 of them was so tight that it cracked part of the plastic surrounding. :|
