my buddies got pulled over last nite for "street racing" the cop said and gave them both $465.00 dollar tickets! How can they prove street racing from just speeding which is a MUCH smaller ticket cost?

any help would be great.

You could tell the judge you are very sorry and he or she could reduce the fine.

wow, only? if u are in CA, the bail would be at least $700 or more, and if it is over 100mph, it is consider famiticular (sp) manslaughter, then the ticket will be 1G and has a chance for the car to getting crushed too.

Cops will pull you over if your cars loud as hell and you jump on the throttle and they ll claim you were racing the minivan next to u. Nothing you can do unless u kno sum people, like the magistrate.

Forgive me for having no pity for you, but I seriously doubt the cop would have pulled over your buddies if he didn't have some legitimate reason to believe they were racing. And, interestingly enough, any reason he might have to believe they were indeed racing (weaving in and out of traffic, speeding, etc.) also happens to be inherantly dangerous. Good luck fighting this one.
