cf hood
i was driving down the interstate the other day and the cf hood split in two. the carbon fiber actually seperated from the fiberglass and flew off leaving the fiberglass latched down on my car. i called vis and complained to them, but they say that if i didnt have hood pins on the car then there is nothing they can do....i told them that it was their fault because it was a defective hood obviously. i said that the hood came with a latch and the instructions said nothing about hood pins. the guy told me on the phone that it says on their website that you must have hood pins for any kind of refund. i searched the site and found nothing about this...anyone ever heard of this or know what i can do to resolve this problem?

This happened to another member on here w/ VIS without hood pins but he got a refund. I think they're giving you BS because if the hood required hood pins then why don't they just come w/ hood pins that's just retarded.
Although if they wanted to get technical the hood does say for off road use only so......
Good luck

I had a cf hood for over a year without hood pins...nothing bad happened
shouldnt matter if you used hood pins or not, unless the company states you need to or void the warranty

install the hoodpins and return it. or if you cheap, u can try drilling holes to make it look like it had pins and return it as is...
call again and tell them you bought the hood from them, ordered it with hood pins as well and had a pro shop do it. then see what their response is...
if they still dont refund, tell them you'll sue or take legal action. try to scare them? idk
