What does this mean?

I went to court about 6 weeks ago to get the city to pay for my rims that got damaged because of their crappy roads. I got this in the mail today. I am not quite sure what it means though. Are they saying that I won the case and that I just need my mom to sign some papers for legal reasons or what? I edited out the names for privacy reasons. Thanks for the help.

It sounds to me like you just need your mothers signature or appearance in court before a decision is made

Your mother owns the car therefore she needs to make the claim herself and be present during the hearing.

Yeah, what he said. In a nutshell, they're not saying you won the case. Theyre saying that even though you have a "interest" in the car (Meaning you pay for it, drive it, maintain it) The car is still legally in your mom's name, therefore you alone cannot request damages to property you don't own. Theyre just telling you that the case is on hold for now, and your mom has to sign onto the case in order for it to proceed.

Hope this helps.

P.S. The part where it says they find the Plantif's version creditable, I believe that just means that they believe what you said about what happened, and it will still be used in determining the judgement. You just need to add your mom.

so go amend your complaint ASAP w/ yo mamas name. and after all this **** is done, ask if she can transfer the title to your name sometime, if it really is your car. makes **** easier, i had a similar situation and that's why everything is in MY name now (and mine only)
