Insurance question
Not sure if this is the same for all states or what. But how long does an accident stay on your record? Ive heard 3 years and ive heard 5 years. So im not really sure. cant get a for sure answer from anyone. BTW i live in alabama. Any help will be apreciated.
in alabama it will stay on your record for 5 years. It is only chargeable to your premium for 3 of the 5. But it will affect your eligability for certain discounts (accident free, safe driver, etc.) for 5 years. if you got other questions let me know, im a licensed agent in 48 states.

Cool...so it only affects my premium for 3 years? which means YIPPY SKIPPY...lol jk. i had two accidents about 3 years ago coming up in june/july and other than that i have a ticket and a small accident on my record. hopefully my premium will come down ALOT.
it depends on the company. for 3 years they can charge you for it, so as they drop off you should see it go down some, but after 5 years they will be totally gone and, provided nothing else happens or is on there, they should give you some type of accident free or safe driver discount. but yeah, it should go down some but not all the way yet.
