so my friends driving in a neihborhood, and hes going 26 mph, he sees a cop and just passes him, cop turns around and puts his lights on him, gives him a ticket for going 1 mph over, and the cop says u should even be going 15 mph for the kids.

26 in a 25 is still speeding. radar or speedo, if you get pulled over doing 26 in a 25, the officer has every right to issue you a ticket.

No lol jeez cmon guys, if you get a ticket for going 5 mph over the speedlimit or lower, like 1-5 mph over you can request that a calabration be made of the speedo and the radar gun... if its not the same your good since you only went 1 mph over, and most of the time itll be liek 1 mph off lol. My friend did it and got outta a 1 mph ticket once... it was funny... also what kinda cop would bust out da gun for 1 mph.. you musta looked fast =)

I live just outside of houston and the neighborhood I just moved out of gives tickets all day long for people going 1 mph over or 2 or 3... It is the little towns where they do this and the judge will not throw out the ticket... they need the money. Hell there are police departments for just neighborhoods and they call them villages or citys. it is a joke and all they do is sit on the free way and pull people over. I'm sure the guys from houston have heard of patton village, maybe roman forest and woodbranch. the cops there are real jerks. I always go 15 to 20 just because I don't even have time for those idiots. also they sit behind the trees in there cars w/ a radar gun in one neighbor hood where it goes from 40 to 25. sorry this is so damn long but this drives me crazy and I hate those a hole country cops

Are u guys kidding? I think I would laugh when he looked me straight in the eyes and said I was speeding. I got a ticket for 9 over once and the judge asked the cop privatley if he was serious (I heard it bc i was in front of the judge). I got it dropped very fast.

Man I've been pulled over by these people and they are crazy. he just got out of his car and looked at my inspection sticker and registration and then started walking back to his car. I was like "is that it?!" and he said "you got a damn problem boy" and I started laughing at him and he yelled at me. I laughed harder and said "no sir" and that was it.. he even took off his sunglasses and stared me in the eye like he wanted me to get out and start a fight. silly country cop!

No cop in AZ is allowed to pull you over unless you are going 5+mph over. Usually their radar guns are set for 8 over. Everybody speeds here including cops. Some people go slow as hell though, but you can go 8 over and not worry in AZ. That is so f****d up. I would fight the hell out of that, and I would have requested the officer show up, so that the judge sees just who it was that wasted his/her time.

I'm guessing it was a school zone becuase the cop mentioned something for the kids. If it's not, then you could probably fight the ticket.
