If im right, the glock has a 12 psi trigger pull for the first round, and every subsequent round only requires 3psi. During traing at the Ontario Police College, I noticed that officers using the Glock had a tendency to have there rounds hit high on the target.

The S.W. we use is very much a heavy piece, and can be fatiguing after a while at the range. But if I had to choose, Id stuck with it.

Although a Desert Eagle .50 cal would be fun. Dirty Harry of the 21st century!! "you might ask yourself a question, do I feel lucky. Well do ya, punk"

Glocks are a hammerless, triple safety double action handgun (called the Safe Action System). There is no single action. The trigger MUST be set by racking the slide a fraction of an inch. This means that even when there is a round in the chamber, the weapon is Condition TWO (firing pin not set, safety engaged) Even when there is a round in the chamber, because the gun is hammerless, it is extremely safe because the firing pin can never be set in a "ready" position, vastly reducing the chance of accidental discharge. The ONLY thing that can actuate the pin is the trigger itself. When the trigger is pulled, it engages a flange on the firing pin, pulling it back, while at the same time engaging a small switch in the action that clears a blockage that seperates the pin from the round. When the trigger nears the end of its travel, the firing pin is released. The round fires, cycles another into the pipe, and the trigger must come forward to reset all the safeties before another round can be fired. These are mechanical certainties that will not ever fail in a properly maintained weapon. Thus, with no possibility of single action, the trigger pull weight is consistant for every shot on all glocks. On my 23, the pull is 5.5 lbs double-action. In some departments, the use of a New York Trigger is required, increasing the pull weight to around 9 lbs.

EDIT: They were hitting slightly high because every round is essentially double-action, meaning the trigger pull is the same relatively long length and heavy weight each time. Try firing your weapon from condition two every round...rack the slide, then decock the hammer and pull the trigger double action. Not saying you will hit high all the time, but if you are used to firing single-action, your aim will be slightly off in double. But I would be willing to sacrifice that small bit of accuracy for the peace of mind Glocks provide, knowing that I can holster the weapon with one in the pipe, and not worry about blowing a foot off lol.
