Unauthorized use of my car pics...how to take action?
Some website is using my car pics to advertise a product. So how do i take action? File a police report?? I dont wanna hire a lawyer and a few extra bucks wouldnt hurt.

in ur case, i dont think ur gonna get anything out of them, but you may wanna email them and let them know about it. maybe threaten them with legal action if they didnt remove them, see if you can get some free stuff....hahaha

Rep Power: 337 well you technically could get some kind of comp but you'll probably need a lawyer to look at the site, take screen shots, and then suprise them. so they dont have time to change.

I don't think there is enough proof. . Screen shot or not. . They can say that someone sent the pics to them claiming it was their car, apologize, and make a simple promise to remove them and that would be enough to have the case dropped in court. and there isn't much that can be done. You'd have to prove their intent, which is probably just too difficult.
Now. . A good idea is to talk to them nicely. Explain that you know your car is on their site, and you don't mind, however, in exchage for the use of your pictures you would like some kind of discount/free parts from them and some kind of acknowledgement on the site that they are your pics. . something like that. Seems like you would have a better shot doing it this way. .

Rep Power: 485 take pics of your car, put 'em on yer computer, and photoshop the website car next to your car and send it to them (make sure you do something so they cant take the picture and say that you stole it from them, like slap your e-mail across it or something) and show that to them.. or to a lawyer..
