Rep Power: 291 2006 Acura CSX
The new EL is called the "CSX". I'm thinking of getting one, but they aren't out yet.
Anybody have an invitation to the release of it? There's an unveiling party at the casino acura and camco acura. I think I might go ask for invitations.
I want leather seats, and I want comfort. Speed is useless in a car...it's all about bikes. hehehe
I'd get a caddy (CTS), but I'd prefer to save my moneys for a house.
It's a 2.0L K series variant (I think): http://insidetracknews-streetwise.bl...eplace-el.html
Some rumours say that it's a 4 door RSX, but really...it's just a rebadged civic (same shell and everything). The 4 door is kinda ugly, but it's all the CSX will be. Thinkin about it....
"the official release date is Nov 21."
http://www.acuraottawa.com/en/info/news/index.spy
Bottom line: my car is almost dead (80%), and I don't feel like working on it. Gonna see how much insurance is, then might get one of these (f#@$# speeding tickets )

my clunker is hilarious. it's busted and almost dead, so it sounds even worse than it did before. it's dying FAST, not slow.
anyone got links for pics of the CSX?
it comes with HID's, leather, mp3/wma deck, etc.
the only mods I'd do would be sway bars, x-brace, mounts, and strut bars. no power (except maybe a CAI to get better gas mileage) mods.
someone post pics if you can find 'em.
i don't like the look of the 8th gen civic's rear end...hopefully acura will clean it up a bit.

Rep Power: 539 It's not going to be unlike any other EL in that it's basically a Civic sedan with nicer lights (front and back) and extras like 4 wheel disc brakes and leather...so on and so forth. I wouldn't expect it to look a whole lot different than the 8thgen sedan with the exception that it'll come base with an EX engine (140hp)

Rep Power: 270 It is a rebadged 8th gen Civic .. features different from view that I can tell .. though probably not getting them all
Interior Illumination Colour: Blue
Security Alarm System w/ Answerback
Dual Expi Exhaust/Tailpipe Finisher
Keyless Entry with Trunk Opener
Headlights
Taillights
*and obviously the body parts around said objects are slightly different
"Standard" premium parts on the CSX that are not available on civics
HIDs
Heated Leather Seating

Rep Power: 291 Mike: yeah, i know it's a civic...but it's not the EX engine. it's a 2.0L i-vtec.
I imagine it's a gayed out version of the K20A3, but I'm not sure. It says it only makes 155HP.
I'm all for the smaller engine though...better gas mileage. I know that my sedan got better mileage than the SiR.
My only prerequisits for a new car:
good on gas
HID's
leather (comfortable seats)
for speed, fun, etc, i've got my bike. it's bad enough that i get retarded with my bike...no sense in having a car to get in trouble with too.

Rep Power: 291 Karumba: I knew you'd come through with pics. hehehe
The 3/4 angle is the one I'm looking for. Hopefully it won't look as ugly as the 8th gen sedan (lights do a lot).
Then again, I've only seen a silver DX with the black trim. ew.
I guess I'll find out this weekend when I see it in person!

Rep Power: 291 man...this is getting more and more appealing.
I think I'll hit the dealer tonight and see if they'll give me more info. I now live two blocks from camco acura.
The dealers are usually retarded, but we'll see.
I'll keep you **** posted.

Rep Power: 291 update: i saw a commercial last night and it said the release date is november 22...not 21.
still gotta hit camco. gonna try to do that tonight.
seriously...how can you go wrong with the CSX. it has the comfort of a tsx, but the gas mileage of a civic. it's pretty sweet.
sure, it's gay on power, but...i got a bike for that

Rep Power: 291 true, but the suspension is old, the engine is old...
they're not introducing anything gay, like they did with the 7thgen. the bugs have been ironed out on our behalf already (7thgens).
well, here's to hoping...i should hopefully have the time to go check this out tonight at the dealer. it's only about 200 meters away from my place...I've got no excuse!

Rep Power: 291 Pierre: sweet man...you da man!
WhiteHalf: it IS a civic. Difference being it comes with HID's, the EP3 SiR engine, heated leather seats, and posh factor
I just want a comfortable car. Gotta be leather...gotta be comfy...gotta be good on gas. CSX seems to be fitting the bill quite nicely.
