What cars can this Civic beat?
I was wondering what cars this thing can actually beat. I know it's not the fastest thing I've drove. My 6000lb truck just wipes it's *** with it.Also what's a good shop in Ottawa to find out about getting TURBOED.I don't want any of the BS installing, tuning, or whatever else is involved.I just want to pay the bill and have a reliable, functional rice rocket.I just had my Honda ground effect kit installed and have the Magnaflow Catback and K&N Filtercharger on order. What size rims should I go 16" or 17"? I've read on this site when lowering you get knocking and popping. Is there a kit out that don't do that?I'm thinking Eibach but not sure. Thx for the info

To tell you the truth...bolt on's don't to anything for the D17 motor...if anything it takes away what little HP they do have (dyno proven)Save your money for a Turbo set up. Any lowing kit is going to give you that knocking/popping sound...our stock struts just suck...If you're going to lower it you might as well order new struts and a camber kit along with it.
Our cars are slow stock...end of story. They do have potential with a turbo/motor swap or motor build up
Hope this helped

Why don't you start out slow? Why jump into a turbo if you haven't done your homework? There alot of things that go hand-in-hand when doing work like that, like the actually cost of the turbo, the maintenance cost, tuning costs, labour, then don't forget about those premium gas fill ups. Exhaust is something good to go with off the start, any pipe that has a larger diameter than the stock pipe will increase flow. Headers, again increase the amount of air flow, will add SOME gain, yet not alot. Bolt ons (like mentioned above) don't do alot, but they do help if you put them all together. Civic is nice dude, can't wait to see it lowered
btw if your concerned about popping noises, don't worry about those, they come and go heheh. I have neuspeed lowering springs, they creak and pop but I deal with it. the 2005 struts are alot better quality than the 2001's I wouldn't worry about lowering. I've had mine on for almost 2 years, and I have had no problems.

Dude.. My other cars are a 5.7 Trans Am,5.3 GXP Grand Prix,5.7 Hemi Ram,5.9 Dakota R/T.When I get out of them and into this it's just BLAHHHHHHHHHH. I just want to know some performance shop I can take the car too drop it off. They do THEIR magic. and POOF.Fast Civic,Reliable Civic.I like to race and rip around but nobody wants to play with me so I bought this Civic to even the playing field. As for cost of using premium are you serious. I can't get over 15 MPG's in ANY of my other cars I don't think the HONDA Turboed is going to be even close to 15 MPG. If it gets 20 mpg it'll be heaven.Total cost Turboed $8000-$9000?
$6000 for a full greddy kit with spearco intercooler @ No Limits. of course you'll also have to buy some accesories like headers, exhaust etc. If you are looking for a quick swap No Limits will have it done for you within 1 day. Now....you COULD go with a custom do-it-yourself turbo kit but that will give you alot of problems (the greddy kit comes with parts and engine warranty). The only way I would recommend going with an actual custom built kit is if you do all the work yourself. If something happens you'll be paying alot of money to get it fixed.

Honestly, dont mean to be a complete lamer on this one ... But you shoulda just waited for the new model SI to come out ... 200hp bone stock.
But since you already have this one ... maybe you should consider a RSX type S swap, its costly ... but you'll get 220hp. It'll only cost yah about $8000 Cdn ... but if your not going to do-it yourself turbo ... like Julien ... then its gonna cost you close to that anyways. Or I could be just completely off ... so dont mind me

I was going to wait for the new one but then decided on this one and got a smokin deal. I have a Charger SRT8 on order so i'll have lots of power there to play with. I just wanted a civic all done up so I can play with the local kids.
