Alright as many of you know, we plan on going to DKN7 in about 2 weeks. Well There was talk about a hotel for like $80 a couple for 2 days. You do the math, it's not alot of money (Thanks Andrew for those hookups!) ANYWAYS I have no clue if we have reserved the hotel or not, and if we don't do it soon, we will be sleeping in our cars. Lets get some talk going on this peeps!
Ideas, sugestions?
BTW Andrew, thanks for helping me fix my trunk setup today!!

Rep Power: 282 no problem Erik...had some fun with that saw!
As for the hotels and motels, I think most of you have been informed about me trying to find one....it's hard. I would definetly love if some of you guys helped me out in finding something for us.

Rep Power: 270 If you have a quote for that, where'd you get it from?
Maybe I'm just tired and not understanding the situation.
In any event, to try and get hotel information - you can always check www.hotels.com I believe they also have a number you can call to discuss group rates (depending on how many rooms you are looking to get)
its late - I'm going to bed now..
Before I forget though .. is your plan still to get to Toronto area by 2pm Friday though or what?

Rep Power: 0 I heard from someone that Dorm rooms at the University of Toronto are $25 a night. I did a mapquest for directions from the school to the fairgrounds, and it clocks at a 35 minute drive.
Last year, our Hotel to the fairgrounds was 15 minutes.
I would prefer a hotel myself though!

alright so I found a place.
Howard Johnson in MARKEM.
She said that she doesn't have alot of rooms left with 2 beds but she has atleast 3 or 4 smoking rooms right now and they are going for $99.99 a night.
I am going to keep on searching to see if there is anything else in Markem or close by.
Let me know what you guys think.
****just found a Motel in the town beside Markem for $79.99

^ the quotes that you have did you actually call the Hotel to make sure that they have rooms available.
I really don't care where we are staying but I think that we should book soon before we can't get anything!
That's just my 2 cents.

Rep Power: 291 Big yeah you can either leave your car at the show, or drive it back, I'm sure you can hitch a ride with someone!
I say anything over $100 a night for a hotel is pushing it, most hotels have an extra charge for additional people (as found out this weekend when we stayed at a Days In in Niagra Cliffton Hill area) Also some hotels charge parking. Whats wrong with the Ramada we stayed at last year?

Rep Power: 291 As long as we find a hotel and load up the rooms, I don't care But the cheaper the hotel, the less money we will have to spend.
Pierre, c'mon man, come and have a good time. It will only get expensive if you make it get expensive. The hotel shouldn't be any more than $40 a person. (thats if there is 4 per room and we will more than likely have like 6 per room) Gas $40 entry, dude, don't forget that people that are entering get a grab back with an extra braclet, and even at that, I'm sure it's not $50 to go see the show. It's probably 15-20 bucks.

Rep Power: 268 I am with Pierre. This week-end is just getting way to expensive. We said yes when we were told hotle would be $60 for the week-end for both Julian and I. The car is falling apart and we don't feel like entering it. So anyone who is entering and has not registered can have our spot.

Rep Power: 282 yeah last year the hotel tab was $160 for Amanda and I. As Erik said, if we all team up 6 people per room the price shoudn't be more then $60....we don't really need to live laveshly all we need is a place to sleep. We really have to reserve something though so if anyone has a motel in mind then tell me because we are leaving next week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

pierre man, going up is not just a car show... actually, last year the car show was sick, but it was boring compared to the partying that took place after! it's worth every penny on the credit card
