I am looking for window tinting recently, hoping you guys to give me some sugguestions, like where to go in Ottawa, brands, prices and stuff.

Hey - welcome to the boards. What you drivin and how did you find us?

Goldwing on Bank street is good as well as Pearl Auto Care in Kanata or in the east end (Michael Street).

They use Solargard and llumar I think. Neither one of these shops use crap stuff so don't sweat it. Goldwing actually has a quality chart to choose from.

i got mine from Derand on bank street, very happy with it, it come with a lifetime waranty so quality is good

word of advise, when u do your rear winshield, make sure they dont cut around the break light, ask them to tint it too, they might need to take off the rear deck, but its worth it.

I did mine on Finallap Orleans $200,llumar highquality film, life time waranty and pretty happy with their after services.

what if I tell you mine is an auto???
did I get a chance to beat him?
he seems to have some mods on, would this make his car heavier than mine?

anyways, you guys know waht's the good percentage for the tints?
would I get pull over if it's too dark, around what percentage is the min?

hmmm...if you're auto, PLayer might take you but just cuz he's a little behind the wheel. haha...

I have 13% all around on mine and I've never been stopped for it once in the almost 4 years I've been drivin it.

yeah man, u dont have to really worry about being pulled over in ottawa for tint, i have 20%, its dark, but could be darker.

and u would probebly beat me, is yours a sedan or coupe?

i have an auto sedan with a sound system, which means i get the extra weight of the system, the sedan, and all the accesorries that come with the LX, plus my weight . So you would probebly beat me.

You should come out to the friday meets. there is about 12 of us ottawa members.

Friday nights, whoever can make it usually goes to the wind tunnel at the airport, if you need directions, they'll be given to you. just ask
And what we do? well, we hang out a bit and talk, show the rides for a bit and sometimes, if someone has something to install on their ride we'll do it. So far we've installed a short ram intake, a rear sway bar and a few more things... he he
anyways, after the airport, we usually go eat at a restaurant, last summer the popular place was denny's, this summer it seems to be local heroes. After dinner we go to M&M (merrivale and medowlands) where the big meets are, with tons of modified cars. You can often see some real nice rides. And after that we sometimes go cruising accross Ottawa. That's pretty much it!
Come out this friday, i'm working so i won't be there, but alot of people are probably going!

what do you mean by taking off the rear deck? you mean for tinting the windows? I don't think they need to take anything off.
By the way, are you planing on doing anything to your ride? If so, what you got in mind?

Honestly i don't know tons about cars, (gotta learn more from you guys) but yeah I am thinking to get a sway bar, maybe changing the head and tail light later when I got some cash

This isn't just for moded cars, it's for people with an interest in civics or cars in general!

when i did my tint, derand told me that they have to cut around the break light, Just like donalds tint, if u look at his car, around the break light it looks weird, they said if i want it all to be tinted, it would be easier for them to take the rear deck out first. some people might be able to do it without taking the deck out, but just make sure they actually dont leave a hole inplace of the break lights.

As for the meets, man u r more then welcome, i stared out with a stock sedan when i first meat everyone, my car is still pretty stockish compared to everyone else, but i still have tons of fun. Come out, u will leanr be seeing peoples cars. and as freddy said, if u want we can clear your headlights when u come out, that would be a nice small addition to your car

About not coming out b/c you don't have any mods. I had 0 (zero) mods last summer, I still went out. It's not about how many mods you have, it's about the people and the car you drive ( 7thgencivic.com) Come out Friday it's a good time, you can check out the cars, and get some ideas about things you can do to your car. Wait untill you see Ballers pimped out sedan. DAYUM!!!!
