Good Deal for Wheels and Tires or Not?
I went to Deals 4 Wheels today (Merivale) and asked about some new wheels and tires. I'm a little paranoid about how much road clearance I'm gonna have when the new kit is on with my 205.45.16's. Car is gonna clear but it'll be close.
Here's what I looked at.
Motegei FF7's (17") with ES100's (205.45.17's)
PIC of wheel
He offered them to me for $1500 CAD ($1100 USD) out the door...all taxes included.
Is this a good deal?

yeah, that's a decent price.
the tires can be had for about 550 CAD, so that puts the rims at only about 200 each which is decent.
They're motegi's though, so they're gonna be heavy as sheit.
the good thing about D4W is that if the tire DOES rub, they'll put on new ones for you for no charge. Happened to me, and they fixed it, no questions asked.

If I want to track the car I'll put my OEM bumpers back on and strap on some 15's

hey mike, i dunno if this is a better deal than deals for wheels but http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=43957
with shipping they'd probably come out to 700$ cdn. without rubber though

I'm a big fan of www.talontire.com - they are based out of Montreal (east side of montreal, so 1.5 hrs out of central ottawa) Great prices, and excellent service.
If you decide to go with them for tires (and they can do rims too) just make sure you're not late for the appointment. They book them pretty tight. Its cool to go and see 5 guys working on your tires at once (sort of like pit-stop). They torque all the bolts by hand (no air guns).
