Well you'll never believe this (well you might)
I was parked at a building on McArthur St. along a curb, and some A$$hole backed up into my driver side door, and put a HUGE dent in it the size of my fist! there was enough force that it dented the door right up to the top panel of the door (just under the window) paint wasn't cracked, just bad scuff marks and a big dent.
Got a quote from one place at $631
need some advice on places that people know of that do good work, for the cheapest rates. I want to stay away from my insurance b/c it's not worth paying the deductable.
Going to go get another quote from a place accross the parking lot of Home Depot.
Also the guys at the collision center noticed the paint job on my bumper and commented on it... saying that it was darker than the rest of the car. They also told me it wound not faid. I called Honda back after this convo and they assured me it would faid... just give it a summer. and he told me that it looked a bit different b/c of the fact that is it on lastic and not metal.
Guys, need help!, I'm freaking over here!!
Mike your Mr Information
know any good places??? Oh I saw you today turning onto Ogilvie from St. Laurent.
That was before the dent.

I don't think it was... the dent is JUST under that bottom panel. too low to be from a van.
But what pisses me off was I was only in the building for 30 minutes or so. so it either happened just after I went in, or just before I came out. I'll tell ya, If I saw the ******* who did it.... you would have seen me on the 6 o'clock news man!

Oh yeah.
first quote I got was for 631
second 797
third 669
Mike are we aloud to post collision center names on here?
I think I'll go for the third guote. costs soo damned much b/c they need to fix dent, (all the way up the door) and then prime/paint the door, and blend from the front panel to the rear quarter panel.
thought it would be alot cheaper.... but 650 is the rough estimate.... I'm sure thats the average. And I know Honda would charge me alot closer to $1000 and you all know the quality of work THEY do

if you are looking for paint jobs, Dow honda does at low price I think, I asked around about 10 different shops (out of like 120 bodyshops around ottawa) and it was all higher. and try Bobby's Auto Collision at 1188 Rockingham av. Tel 733-9180 they had some what reasonable good price.

You could also try Eastway Collision but their paint shop is in Pembrooke. That's where I'm getting my car repainted this winter.

k I have alot to say so bear with me. I totally feel your pain. The fact that someone hit your car and then gets away with it I would think feels like a kick in the nuts. Really don't know what that may feel like but hey what the hell. Second I have been told that the paint will fade and to just give it one summer. PLEASE do not take it to Dow Honda. They are the ones who did our car. I have been in pretty much every week since we got the car back. They are morons and do a half *** job. They are cheap for a reason. Silver is a really hard colour to fix and your best bet is to get the bumper blended. You will be told that it is very hard to do the silver but just tell them it can be done. We sent our car back three times to get painted and they finally did it. May i suggest that you go to the stores around where you got hit and ask if they have survaillence (not to sure if I spelled that right) try to find out who hit your car. If you can find out, call the cops and have them charged with hit and run and then take em to court and have them rapped royaly up the *** for doing this. As you can tell I have no tolerance for these kind of people. I think it may of had something to do with the drunk who hit our car. As far as your bumper you really should get it fixed. It is alot worse than our (just being honest) It can be fixed. Sorry I could not be more of a help. People need to stop hurting our hondas. BTW I was at Dow Honda today and they had a Honda Accord. 1987 with 415,000 kms on it. They think the guys might get like 600,000kms out of it. Well this was before he hit a deer and smashed up the car. Do you think it could of been a mustang that hit you?

yo, dnarahp: I just bought some dent pulling tools. if you wanna swing by my house tomorrow or sunday, lemme know.
we can only really do it if it's not raining/snowing, though, cuz we'll have to do it in the driveway. unless we can do it at your house in your garage?
either way, lemme know! I'll PM you my deets

Lol!! I think I have it covered guys! Thanks for the concerns. As far as the bumper goes, it's a bumper, it's made to go bump at times.. not look pretty
I'm not too worried about it. They told me it would fade by mid summer.. I'll tell them when I go in for my next oil change that if it hasn't faded at all by mid summer next year I'm bringing it back and they can repaint it again !! MUAHAHAHA!!!
I was going to claim the dent on insurance, but my broker said claiming $169 (after $500 deductible) isn't worth it, b/c it's a claim, and if you get 2 your insurance goes up, and the more claims you make, the less the company will like you
so I'll pay it outta my pocket. I'd rather save a claim for a serious issue *knock on wood*
I'm not gonna bother with the security camera thing. too much of a hassel.
