Canadian Tire has a 20% off sale for the K&N filters this week. I went in to inquire one for an 02 LX but unfortunately they said none of the stores in Edmonton has them. Who may have the specific one I need for the car?

i have a used one kicking around the house. used for maybe 4 months. only thing is i'm not in town again for a while.

Your better off with a stock filter.

Aftermarket filters do not filter out the garbage as good as stock ones.

If you do not believe me do a search on a K&N filter from this site and you will see many users with stock intakes prefer stock filters over aftermarket ones.

I didn't think that would be the case? I want an aftermarket because I want to free up the flow and maybe give the car a tad more ooomph (ie going up a hill)...

A more free flowing air filter = larger holes (or whatever you call them) are used on the filter paper, which means more dirt will pass through the filter.

That is the consensus with most aftermarket filters.

you will not notice much with the k&n filter. although it's nice to only have to clean the filter instead of replacing it everytime it's needed.
