New timeslips from the track

i went to the track today and i have to tell you, this is one of THE worst tracks i have been too. it was a damn gravel road leadin up to the track and then the pit road was torn up. the track itself wasnt too bad, but i couldnt get any traction on it.

i am really gettin kind of annoyed with my launches. have great reaction times, but i am getting terrible wheel hop. i recently switched over to rota subzero rims with 215/40/17 bridgestone fuzion sz1 tires and i drop the pressure to 17 psi for the track and even when i launch at 2500 RPM i still get terrible hop. anyone know what i am doing wrong and how i can get some nice smooth launches even with wheels spinning i would take over hop.

there were alot of tight cars there too. i met this one chick down there that had a turbo'd 7thgen she was smokin hot too she had a black 7thgen coupe witht he wings west avenger kit and the TSI turbo kit. i ran against her a couple times and she wasnt the best driver. she ran constant 15.0-15.1 second 1/4 miles. i would have expected better with the turbo. but who really cares, shes hot and drives a turbo 7thgen

well anyways here are my timeslips. i am number 579

^ my best reaction time to date. check that out

^ best time i have had so far

^ just another run with a good reaction time against a turbo talon. i had no chance

^ race against my friend's 5th gen lude that was spraying. it is his first time using it, so he can still perfect it and probally get a 14.9. i rode in his car when he was spraying and let me tell you, it is fast as hell. it literally pushes you back in the seat. hes got a zex 55 shot he is running.

repost.

I'll race you and your buddy. I put 10 bus lengths on a 96 LS teg that had an intake and header last week. It was fun.

nice reaction times. must be playing a lot of video games i don't think bridgestones are poor tires, but i don't know. your r/t's really don't seem to be affecting the 60' significantly. did you take out spare/jack/any audio and have less than 1/4 tank of gas?

couple weeks ago i messed with a pontiac vibe/matrix. never saw what it was cuz it was never in front of me. was riding my *** so when he went to pass, i out 6-8 lengths on him. tried to do a fly-by twice, and he never got closer than 1-2 car lengths before i pulled away and put 10 on him, hitting about 110 and 120. he exited before me, so i slowed down, expecting to get a finger or something. instead, he's like and i flashed him the fun times

you can run better than a 14.9?

ya i can so take my friend's lude up to the 1/8 miles even when he sprays cause the thing is so damn heavy, but after that he just flys past me.

my gas tank was almost empty and my trunk is completely gutted. my main problem is i keep getting wheel hop. i talked to some people and they think it is because my car is dropped on stock struts so i cant keep the wheels firm on the ground. so im gonna get some tie bars and **** and see if that helps and if not, im gonna have to buy some konis

plus you're on race, aren't you? thats 2+ inch drop, minus some possible extra drop if those shocks are blown. that can be problems on your power delivery too, being dropped too low. tie bar wouldn't do a damn thing, sways are mostly gonna help with cornering. i would save sway bar money for konis if you're serious about going fast in one direction

a really bouncy ride would tell you. shocks keep the spring from bouncing around so much. if shocks are gone, spring is gonna bounce all over. konis will help stabilize those firmer springs. or buy tokicos they're like 330 shipped on ebay

those would be a good choice. esp. if the damper can easily be adjusted. i'd really like full coils myself, but $ isn't good for them right now

Tokicos would be fine with the drop. Chris used them with a 3 inch drop on his old eg hatch.

Your wheel hop is due to the 40 series tires. A low sidewall is good for turns because you arent getting any tire flex, but for drag racing, the tire will be too hard and won't grap, IE your wheel hop. Ever notice how the drag racers have big sidewalls? That is so when they launch, the tire flexes and will grab the pavement. When you launch, there is nothing but about 1 1/2 inches of rubber to transfer the power. I never understood why these guys want to build a drag racer then throw some 40 series tires on there.
