Re: Bare block
So.. out of curiosity.. By "bare block" do you mean just the block itself, no pistons, crankshaft, pulleys, oil pan, etc.? Or do you need an assembled bottom end?
also, @Chezboat24 is right, bottom end is heavy as hell, even if completely stripped.

Re: Bare block
@xRiCeBoYx @Chezboat24 Yea i just need an empty block, and im looking at buying one and shipping because in my area there arent exactly alot of junkyards and the nearest machine shop to get mine decked and repaired is a couple hours away, and i also looked up shipping rates for ups, and it says they charge a fee of $13 and $.50 per pound so if if the bare empty block weighs say 100 pounds (im not sure how much it weighs, just guesstamating) shipping would only be $63 outright and prob a lil more depending of distance, but ya know if it isnt like 500 in shipping its not that big a deal to me.

Re: Bare block
It’ll probably be a little more. It’d cost me about $250 to get a 75lb package from Toronto to Calgary. You can get a block from a junkyard for $60 I think. Provided you can actually find someone who’ll sell you one (let’s just say they take $50), you’re $300 into a block. I’m pretty sure you can get an entire replacement engine for like $450.
See if there are any partout cars near you. They’re usually littered over classifieds sites.
