Question What is a crazy boost level

What is the highest boost level you would put on your car that wouldn't blow the engine

Read this: Link

It answers all your questions and more. It's a very good FYI. On Hondas none the less.

anything 9 and up your gonna have to totally redo your fuel system, because or civ's dont have a return fuel line. which means more money your gonna have to fork out. like the more boost your gonna want, the more money your gonna have to dish out for the car to be able those high levels of boost

We heard you! That's not insane for diesel engines.

I say... 30psi. Basically the maximum that one of those upgraded Eagle blocks can withstand.

If you're talking about a stock D17, then 10psi is insane. No amount of intercooling will save you from a blown head gasket.

8.5:1 is extremely low unless you plan on boosting 14+ psi on a regular basis for anything less you would be better off running 9.5-9.8:1 compression.

on my wish list is a sleeved block from Polk Performance here in Arkansas. Its guaranteed to handle 60 psi all day long. They get the block sleeved by the same people that do work for NASA.

$900 is the price to pay.
AWESOME!

Of course, you would have to have an all-forged assembly to handle all that, but we can dream, right?

$900! gawd.

You'd dust modded supras with that kind of power with a good launch and good tires. Of course you'd want to get stronger axles. I plan to sleeve my block this winter and pick up forged internals with a new intake manifold and some serious headwork. I know I'll probably spend a good 3 grand on it but it'll be well worth it. 450 whp

Yeah I'm going to get the internals first...slowly and one piece at a time.

Then the seeves and headwork.
I can do all the porting and polishing myself, but I will have to pay for the bigger valves and 5 angle valve job they do there.

After that its clutch and axles.

I know after that 450 hp isnt going to be too far away
Just a turbo install away that is....

I'm probably looking at at least $3500 before turbo.

But the look on my buds face when I dust his '79 Trans Am with a 455 Big Block!

Ah turbos........

Nah, you probably does have good help. Just in case you guys all get stuck and can't get good results, my offer still stands. Eventhough I know very little about the new honda heart, I am sure 13's will be a easy task. From what reading all your posts, I am sure you won't be satisfied with 13. I will be sure to see you in the 12's. LoL

Here is our project B18C1.

If you help me find enough info to push my friend to turbo his ex, I will be happy to answer all the questions you have about turbos.
