Hi guys I was just wondering if I could swap my D17A1 with and R18A1 R from and 8th gen civic. I have had my 04 civic for a while but the motor just blew my buddy said he would give me his crashed 08 civic for free. The engine is in good condition so I was thinking I could just take the engine out of his crashed civic and put it in mine Im doing everything myself to reduce costs and to learn more

No mounts available for any R engine. There's really no point in swapping this engine.

You can get a replacement D17A1 for like $500.

How badly crashed are we talking here? Might be better off just fixing that.
