A3 to a2 direct swap??
A3 to a2 direct swap??
Greetings, I’m looking to swap out my a3 for an a2 in my em2. Everything in the front end is from an ep3, as I put a k24 in my ep3.
Subframe, rack, engine, tranny, front suspension and brakes, ecu are all from ep3. With many different accessories and rad hoses from an rsx
The engine went in there with pretty high km’s, and I’ve beat it pretty hard. I’m wanting to boost it and build it for street, with some safe and reliable numbers. I was thinking of just throwing a lower km a3 in but after the research I really don’t think it’s worth the time and money.
my question is if I bought an a2 would it be a direct swap in? I understand I will need a new harness and stand alone to get it running. But otherwise are all engine mounts, and accessories in the same spot? Is the height of the engine the same? (I’ve already have to stack the hood to get enough clearance).
all input is appreciated thanks in advance!

Re: A3 to a2 direct swap??
Yes, no issues from K20a3 to K20a2. If you're using the EP3 idler pulley, the hood should clear without issue. If you have a hydraulic power steering pump then you have to notch the hood to get it to close.
