2001 Civic EX blown engine...HELP!!!

I have an 01 Civic EX with 115k that needs a new engine. Any advice on having a shop swap in a used engine vs. a remanufactured engine?

Got a quote from a dealership for $3k to install a used engine w/ 90k, including replacing parts such a water pump, timing components, etc, plus a one year warranty. Another place quoted me $4200 to install a JASPER reman engine.

Or should I just cut my losses and sell the for what I can?

Thanks so much.

Considering you can get a complete d17 for around $500 or less, I say that is reduculous...even with replacing the water pump and timing belt etc. I'd either get a junkyard engine and replace the timing belt and water pump and swap it in myself, or sell the car.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I don't personally have the time or resources to swap it myself. The rest of the car is in excellent condition so I'm torn on keep vs. sell. If I could get a shop to do it for $2k or so, would that be more reasonable?

That's a better price...but my old car blew an engine and I only paid $600 in labour and $350 for the engine...it wasn't a civic, but the process was the same either way.
