Re: can i???
There's also no after market parts, such as mounts, made for an h22 or b18 swap into a 7th gen civic. That means unless you have some serious skills and equipment and have the ability to make your own parts and engineer all the technicalities, it would cost a small fortune to swap those dated engines into your prospective future car. Realistically, if your aiming for an affordable swap then a k20a3, k24a1 or k24a4 is what you should be looking at.
h22 or b18c into a 6th gen is an entirely different discussion, I would probably choose h22 if I'm not heavily modifying the engine, but if I were going turbo b18c all the way.

Re: can i???
Hmm, i think this thread is in the wrong section, OP pmed me asking about swapping a 96 vic
But I would def choose the B18, purely to build on. One of the best platforms to work on other than the K20 IMO.

Really depends on what you want to do with it, but I'd say you're better off keeping your '96 and getting a K20, just because you could probably drop a nice down payment on something faster, like a Si, with how much it would cost you to get all parts/mounts needed.
Besides, if it's a '96, I'm assuming it's either paid off already or easier to pay off than getting a new car. That's more $$$ for mods!
