Need guidance

So I bought a 2001 Honda Civic LX and I'm going from my 2002 Ford Crown Victoria and a 2001 Ford Expedition, and right of the bat I'm a little erkked. This car has NO get up and go, it lagssssssss. So I need someone to point me in the best way to get this car to MOVE when I WOT. I was thinking forced induction, but I figure I would give you all first dibs since you are the experts on these cars.

Re: Need guidance

Nice grab. If you're willing to drop $8k into it, go for a K20 (Civic Si [K20a3], RSX [K20a3], RSX-S [K20a2], RSX-R [K20a] engine) swap. You should be able to find all the required stuff for less than $8000

That guy used to be on our forum and he wrote a fairly detailed DIY guide. You can even go a step further and do a K24 (TSX) swap for some extra ponies.

I know places like jspecautosports.com has engine, tranny, ecu, driveshaft, etc "packages" for about $6000 plus shipping

Re: Need guidance

If your budget is $8k I'd buy a wrecked RSX type-s and swap everything over, everything.
The K20a2, 6 speed trans, leather seats, dash, 5 lug knuckles, upgraded brakes, 19mm rear sway.

Unlike high displacement motors like the crown vic and expedition the D17 thrives at very high RPM and excels in handling, its a trade off, straight line performance for cornering ability.

I don't know where you live, but I could turn a dime and pick up 9 cents with my crown vic and have time to P.I.T maneuver someone lol :P

I forget, how hard is it to convert a automatic to a manual?
