This quaife is made for the D17, the other one your talking about wasn't even made for it, someone just thought it would fit.
Read first before posting, QUAIFE MADE THIS FOR THE D17.

Re: LSD through Quaife is here!!!!!!!!
yes... i did READ... what dezod said is that it is FOR the d17... but not MADE for the d17... but thats just wording and its not what concerns me.... my concern is with this is being advertised... why is it so hard to find an actual em2 with this quaife actually in the transmission? dont get me wrong, i look forward to this product, but i wanna make sure that it really fits 100%, with test results and review. i will attempt to contact the quaife authorized usa dealer to see if they have a test car....
and this is also something that concerns me....
i read every post, but reading isnt my problem.... it's the fact that there isnt a d17 with this baby in it.... please keep me posted, i want one hahah
and this is also something that concerns me....
They had the LSD for a short while.
They have determined that the 7th Gen Civic has a diff that is dimensionally identical to the unit in the Honda Fit, for which they already make a LSD for. The only difference is that the ring gear bolts for a Fit must be used (and are not supplied).
I hope is not another miscalculation like the last time.
Some R&D would be needed.

Re: LSD through Quaife is here!!!!!!!!
but if its available...how come it isnt listed on quaife's website? as well as the crower rods and cams not available on crowers website? why would it be available but not be listed like everything else on thier websites?

Re: LSD through Quaife is here!!!!!!!!
There are a lot of products that companies offer that are not on their websites.
The Crower cams & rods are listed in the master catalog, which is like 2 inches thick.
http://crower.com/cat/import/honda/cams/d17a2.shtml
http://crower.com/cat/import/honda/rods/rods.shtml
Crower lists them!
This diff is the FIT diff, as Supermex stated previously. According to Harleigh at Quaife, it is just a matter of the bolts on the ring gear. If you use the Fit ones, it's a D17 diff. We are sourcing those so in essence it is a true D17 Diff to the end user to have. Hence the listing as a D17 only on our site.

I think he may have been referring to the design you guys scrapped after you found out it didn't perform as nicely as it looked.

Re: LSD through Quaife is here!!!!!!!!
Wait, you're saying you've decided not to come out with a cast manifold at all?
If so, gosh that's a bummer. I was really looking forward to it. But I guess if it doesn't perform then we don't really want it any way right?.... That's cool.

Re: LSD through Quaife is here!!!!!!!!
Just called quaife. Turns out they are not making an LSD "specific" to the d17 but they say that the fit is the exact same thing. You just use the fit's ring gear/final drive bolts. There are all of 10 of them and they are like a buck and change from majestic each.

Re: LSD through Quaife is here!!!!!!!!
who cares what it was origionally designed for... as long as it fits and is capable of handling the engines power it might as well be called a d17 diff.
Re: LSD through Quaife is here!!!!!!!!
I read through all of the pages but must've misunderstood, I thought there was one developed specifically for the d17. Easy enough of a fix.

Re: LSD through Quaife is here!!!!!!!!
I talked to one of the guys at dezod a couple of weeks ago (it wasn't Paul) and he said they had sold a bunch of them. And that they hadn't heard anything on them which is usually a good sign because the usually only hear something if it doesn't work. I don't know anyone who has one but I think Andyman said he was going to be getting one soon. I am going to try if my budget allows to get one this spring when I replace a bearing in my tranny.
But I understand the concern it is alot of money to drop if you are unsure about it

Re: LSD through Quaife is here!!!!!!!!
Its sitting in my garage with my new tranny. I'll be putting it in and installing in when the cold finally breaks. A retune will be coming shortly thereafter, I'll post up the results when its done.

Re: LSD through Quaife is here!!!!!!!!
Yeah man. The goals have changed slightly. Although all out power is alot of fun, its just not that feasable, way too much to keep up with. The new goal has shifted to not just being fast and clean but a show winner with about 300 whp daily, bumped to about 400-ish at the strip on race fuel. I want to have some comfort involved in the setup, hence the exhaust finally. Who knows what will happen once I get it where I want it, may go for more power.
So did you move the shop up to Buffalo now? I was in Grand Island for Christmas.
