alright i let my friend drive my car. stupid guy isnt watching the boost gauge and he overboosts to 15psi saying holy **** this is fast! he prob overboosted for 3 seconds. the boost reference vacuum line to the wg blew off so i cruised home and zip tied the line on thinking everything was fine. i went out for a test drive and now the car lags like a ****. it still builds boost, a little bit later but it does not feel like 6 psi at all. feels more like 2 or something. even while at a dead stop, when i rev the motor it lllllllaaaaaagggggggsssssss. i have an 11lb flywheel and the rpms go up way slower than the stock flywheel. it literally takes maybe 2-3 seconds to reach 6k rpm from idle when i floor the gas pedal. before it took probably around a second. whats the deal. i hope nothing serious happened but it seems like it. you guys know what the problem is? thanks.

i tell him what happens and all he said was..."that sucks, sorry." god im so fvcking pissed

dont tell me thats the motor you got off of me?... try checking your spark plugs.. they might be fouling out since your not tuned yet

yeah this is your motor mike... fvck. well i changed out your old ones cuz they were makin the car lag a lot. what tests should i run to check whats wrong with it? i am no guru in diagnosing problems with motors. andyman what you mean by the very least? so your saying it could be worse like a piston/piston ring or something?

mike w/ your motor trans i also pop out of 4th and 5th gear rather easily while cruising. there are also massive oil leaks. the oil is in the downpipe and everything. do you know whats up?

The only way for oil to get into the downpipe is from the turbo. Your seals may be burnt on the turbo.

As far as damage goes, you can do a few things. First thing I'd do is check compression. Depending on your compression readings, I would do a leakdown, and from there, possibly pull the head. I just know symptoms of blown headgaskets. Are you spraying an abnormal amount of oil from the breather tube on the valve cover? Are you losing coolant? Is your engine misfiring at all? Any cel's? You may have a blown intercooler pipe. You say it lags, what is your boost gauge telling you? Way too little information for me to even try diagnosing what could be wrong. Start with those things and report back.

If you don't want to do anymore damage, I would STRONGLY suggest not driving the car until you solve your issues.

Do a compression test....if the readings deviate 10% or more...you have a blown head gasket my friend

well i checked the oil dipstick just a lil while ago and its completely dry. that is probably the problem. maybe the overboost problem and no oil was jsut a coincidence. i will check the oil problem out. the engine did not eat the oil up. there is a huge puddle of oil under the motor. i was leaking oil previously but not enough to empty out overnight. it usually leaked maybe 1/10 a quart a day and i just refilled it.

its not a blown intercooler pipe. the boost gauge still read normal vacuum and it still held boost.

dang your leaking tons of oil if you got a puddle.. you got something leaking somewhere.. either its from the oil feed line.. oil return line.. check the welds on the return line and so forth... or your seals on your turbo went... try pulling the intercooler off and see if there is any oil in it...

i got a compression tester at the shop.. i can test the compression for you free of charge.. or if you cant drive your car i can come by but it wont probably be till tomorrow or something.. i get off aroung 5-6 ish so if you want call me then..

i gotta go with andy on this one...hg at the least, prolly more if there's a puddle of oil underneath...can you see where it's leaking from? maybe an oil line like ^ said, you hope....

ACTUALLY! everything is fine! ...... it was just a massive oil leak from the oil drain line. it was just a coincidence i think that he overboosted. i filled her up with oil and started her up, very minor oil leaks. car runs fine and pulls fine. THANK GOD. thank you guys for all your concern though. i areally do appreciate it ....

^^ yessir ..... i am so relieved right now. lol

my guess is the turbo is going bad... i dont blame it its a very old turbo. something about the oil seals frying up. i think what saved me is the leak in my downpipe. i have a leak @ the dp so its makin me run really rich. i filled up full tank 2 days ago and now i am at 1/2 tank after 80 miles of driving. -_-

i dont get it? why not just get it tuned? and money shouldnt be an excuse because you had to have money to purchase the second motor right? that couldve been tuning money
