Does anyone know anything about this company?
A couple years back I read about a company called Squires turbo systems. The article was in an issue of "Turbo and high tech performance" They installed one of these kits into GSR and raved about how good everything was... Has anyone heard of them? Does anyone know anyone that has a kit installed? Anything at all really. Even though their website lists only domestic cars as complete kits, they have a universal kit for any application. I really like the idea of the placement of the turbocharger itself. The only problem is that their home office is like ten hours away in Utah, so I wonder if anyone that has had experience with traditional kits, will be apt to installing one for me. I'd like to install it myself, but don't have a way to bend pipe...or weld. Hmmm what does everyone think?

The "trunk mount" kit. When there's room under the hood, and no room under the car for charge pipes, why bother?

I've seen similar setups posted before. There may be an increase in cooling efficiency of the turbine but I don't think it outweighs the benefit of shorter running pipes.

Hm yeah I know what you mean. I wonder if this is a good setup to have if you drive long distances regularly. With the heat difference and all...
The FAQ section of the site states that boost comes on full at 3000 RPM. Do you get boost at around that RPM with a traditional setup? Lets say six pounds?

Re: Does anyone know anything about this company?
Yes, that is partly true, but when you're spooling a turbo with a 1.7L sohc motor, you need every bit of efficiency you can possibly get. You will see completely different flows between the same turbo with shorter range, more gradually bent piping than you will with running 10-15 ft of intercooler pipes towards the rear of the car.
No doubt you CAN make power doing it that way but the farther the air has to travel and the more bends it has to travel through, the more restriction. Less restriction = more power, every time.
