NOS on an 01 civic?

My 2001 civic ex is in the shop because i hit a tree but when shes out I want to slap a nitrous kit on her. The crash didnt damage anything important but I have an Injen cold air intake and an exhaust. Would I need to get a new clutch? what else would i need for a nitrous setup? Its an automatic.

There are a lot of choices when looking into a nitrous oxide system. Starting with wet or dry Nitrous Oxide. Wet nitrous is sprayed as an atomized liquid directly into the intake manifold where the gasoline is mixed with air. The dry system is generally sprayed into the intake piping somewhere, as a gas. The choices for all of the manufacturers out there make a decision difficult. One system which I've had personal experience with, is the Zex smart Nitrous system. It's easy to hook up and automatically engages the flow of nitrous to the engine computed by it's own little box. But it is more expensive. NOS and Nitrous Xpress as well as Edelbrock all have good systems, but they don't offer all the same types of parts. Some come with kits, others just sell the basic stuff. Wet systems are manufactured to produce more power, but also puts more strain on the engine. I would reccommend the dry system for our civic, just because it's easier to install and doesn't run the risk of overloading the engine. As far as I know the wet system need to be mixed properly before entering the engine, and I think most wet kits come with the appropriate hardware to do so.

Oh and by the way, you don't need a new clutch. That's normally only for turbocharged applications.

Oh and one more thing, there are probably going to be a bunch of whiners around here complaining about how you shouldn't get NOS. Don't listen to them, decide on your own. And besides, You could out run their Huffy anyday with your civic NOS'd or not.
