Think whatever you want, but I assure you, money had absolutely nothing to do with this being made. I have no idea how the cost structuring laid out, nor will I speculate it, but it was made for me by someone who's a friend of mine, because I'm going to use the car in a matter of which I can utilize it to its maximum potential (the race track) and its worth the time and effort to make parts like this to use them.
You gotta realize that without the "disclaimer" I'd have gotten 100 PMs by now about how to get one, and out of that, I'm willing to venture less than a handful of those people would actually follow through on it. Given the extremely time consuming nature of its construction, its not something that lends itself to mass production, or even really small scale production. Definitely a one and done work of art, as customs should be.
Exactly. Everyone on this site has bitched about parts availability on d17s since the beginning. How many people follow through with actually getting the parts. I still remember everyone complaining about no engine management being available. The AEM came out and there were a handful of people who ended up actually using it.
Oh and how much do you think a custom intake manifold costs, huh? Ballpark of about 1g.
23 posts and no idea wtf you're talking about. Idiots like you are the reason people don't come to this site anymore.

this is very true. but it would be nice if there was that option there.
will that IM allow u to keep stock things like cruise and such?

oh i am sorry, but i have used the aem ems many off times to tune my car and alot of my friends car. don't go jumping the gun here. i should say that for what it does and how much of a headache it is to program it is a pain in the ***. i would use the psc over the ems.the ems is a good tool, but it has it goods and has it bads. don't think that every time someone who is typing is a kid.
i am not one of the reasons why this site is ****ed up, there are many reasons why this site is going down hill. there are people here like you a boiler who try to make up and build new stuff to help out this site but not everyone has the will or know how, to take what they have learn from others and apply it to there cars.
one more thing i beleive i have a right to disagree with you on things that you say, if you really look this is one of the reasons that this site is like this, if someone post some thing that you don't like then it is time to jump down there neck and **** on them.

If you're going to disagree, disagree and have a reason to back it up. Look at the date I joined this site, I'm not the reason its going downhill. Look at all of the informative threads I have in my signature. How much information have you contributed out of your now 24 posts? I don't jump down anyones throat because I don't like what they say, I jump down their throat for posting misinformation, just the same as I always have.
Because of people like you who obviously have no idea how to properly program or use the aem, you say it sucks. And people who know no better assume you know what you're talking about when you have no clue. And I don't believe for 1/2 a second that you are anywhere near experienced enough to properly tune a box like the aem. What's such a headache about it? Why is it such a pain in the ***? You make bullshit claims like that, you need to have something to back it up with, otherwise, don't post if you can't contribute anything but stupidity.

Re: The end all Intake Manifold...
Ok, I know its a big mess in there. A lot of stuff had to come out/move to get it in. The chargepipes need to be remade, the throttle moved up, back and left. Need to cover all the wires, they wouldnt reach so they're out of the loom... deal with it.
Its in, and holy **** is it awesome. Touch the gas, you get boost.... instantly. Its fan-frickin-tastic. My *** dyno isnt overly sensitive, but judging on playing with some usual roads and when I had to shift gears, its a little faster, especially on the top end.

Many thanks to Robbclark1 for helping me with the install.

Good stuff man, you think it feels quicker now, imagine how it'll respond when you tune, even out of boost you should notice a huge difference.

I'm still waiting for my "Box of Doom" to show up. Then I'll retune it. Going off A/F readings, I'm safe, there's definitely some points where it changed, but nothing really got up into the 12's so I'm still safe on driving for now.

K Pro, I assume? You can really feel the difference on a flat, clean a/f curve vs. one that's bouncing all over the place. It pulls alot harder and smoother. Not to mention adding some timing back in if you've pulled too much for "safety" purposes. If you can get it in and around 11.1-11.7 across the rpm band, you'd be doing pretty well.

after a little fighting, we gots it in, no problems or codes, running a little richer, and it didn't blow up!
Fitment was a little funky. The TB was pushed to the drivers side a little more making it a stretch for some connectors. Justin had to extend a antifreeze line. The intake sits mad high and hits against the hood. And the test fit was done on a car without AC or PS so those lines are sorta in the way of the throttle cables. All of these things required pretty minor fixes although Justin will have to rework the PS and AC hoses a bit as well as lower the intake from hitting the hood.
we were actually surprised that it was easier to install than we thought. I think taking the old one off took more time than putting the new one on.

You know you don't need to have the coolant lines hooked up to the IAC, right? You can just leave it disconnected from any coolant hoses. Yeah, custom manifolds fit much easier and bolt on easier. I really love mine, so easy to work with.
