Yea it was inevitable...
I blew my car up. I was driving along on a local highway and in about 30 seconds my engine temperature went from normal to pegged. I shut the motor off and coasted to a parking lot and let it cool down. It didn't boil over too much... and I didn't refill it.
Now two weeks later, the car still smells like burning coolant 24/7 inside the car - If I step outside the car it smells like someone is BBQing their livingroom furniature in my engine bay.
I also have noticed a considerable "loss" in power under boost for about a week before I boiled it. My gauge still reads 8, but it doesn't have that same kick in the pants like I think it did before.
To try and confirm my problem, I did a leakdown test... Each cylinder held and did not leak, however they were only holding 130-140 after 4 cranks each.
Some important background info here is that I was running a base map, not a custom tune on my E-Manage... it was set for 10psi and I'm only running 8psi - so the car was running rich all the time anyway. I have had people tell me everything from a blown headgasket to fried piston rings. When I called Dezod he even backed up his gloomy prediction with lots of facts... LOL. Anyone on here got any opinions?

Man that is tragic. You car is amazing, I hope you find the problem and get it back running again. Do you have a wideband? Do you know for a fact you were running rich all the time? 8 psi is by no means too much for a d17, so perhaps there was detonation issues. Like I said before I hope you find the problem and get the car back running because spring is coming soon.

Your compression is a bit low. If you've been running pig rich you may have washed the rings out. You're gonna have to rip it apart to figure it out, so you may as well re-ring it and replace the head gasket, just cover all the bases. When its fixed, TUNE IT.
