OK well heres my plan i really want to hit 200 horsepower all motor i have a friend that owns a shop that build motor he says it is possible he will help me do it as long as i can provide a the parts. OK heres what i am thinking.
kms makes a head kit it does not come with the cam. I dont know where to get pistons for a 12:5:1 compression or rods any help. Also if i go turbo does anyone know where i can get a fast turbo like a t3?

Rep Power: 228 I really doubt it, honestly I think the most that could be made with a daily driveable D17 is MAYBE 160whp. To get 200 whp out of a D17 you would have to bore it out to a 2.0, run insane cams, and such a crazy high compression you would be forced to use race gas. Doing this you would never be able to daily drive it and you still may not see 200whp. Also such a build is going to cost around the same amount as a swap.
However I do think that it would be fun to buy an old D17 and have it built to see how much power you could make. You could just pull your engine after the build is done, and set it aside for when you had to rebuild the built motor. I do happen to have a D17 laying around that I would let go for cheap

Rep Power: 228 $350 + shipping it is basically the block and the head, no tranny, PS, AC, etc. It was over reved and I think it may have a bent valve, but you would be rebuilding it anyway. Other than being overreved it was taken care of for its entire life of 30K miles. The only condition is that you have to keep me updated on the build process
BTW I can ship for a halfways decent price depending on where you are from. PM me for more info. I hate whoreing this thread.

Rep Power: 0 well first off that is a d16, which has many more parts out for it then our d17. just go to a local shop, one that actually knows what they're doing, and chat with the guys there. if you're serious about dropping enough $$ to get your engine to 200hp i'm sure they'll be quite friendly =P.

Rep Power: 0 what he means is... you won't get your engine to 200whp no matter how much you think you might unless you turbo. our engines are small, they suck, and frankly, the few n/a d16s that hit those numbers have had 15000+ dropped into them. yet you come in here and act like you know everything, and that you WILL get 200hp, and then you ask for others to do the research for you...

first off i dont want anyone to do any research if they have a link then thats fine and i am welling to give it a hot and 15000 I doubt it unless you have proof. I dont act liek i know it all i am asking for opinions if u dont have anything then dont post and get the thread closed. Someone people that are n/a people want to hit 200 and will try unlike people like u that talk and dont do nothing about it
