Engine Swap

Can anyone tell me the pros and cons of doing an engine swap with a H22A Type S and k20 Type S. Which is the better bang for the buck.

Thanks

The a3 is not better for boost if you're looking for serious numbers. Once it gets to around 300 it has a NAST case of crankwalk that can appear, and that will end your day of fun real fast. Generally the a3 is cheaper, but has a lower output and dosen't have true vtec.

The a2 is a good setup for boost or allmotor, and will run you a little more. You'll essentially have alot more options with this motor. You can also do a frank with a k24 bottom end and an a2 head. You'll need to be careful though of high revs on this one, and make sure a shop that KNOWS what they're doing undertakes this.

Then you have the lovely a, which is better suited for an all motor setup, but under the right circumstances can take a moderate amount of boost. This one generally runs in the 5k dollar range, comes with a higher compression and more horsepower than an a2.

The most common swpa that people are doing is a straight a2 swap, with a few franks and z1's on the sides. =)
