Autotranny Q's
hey all, im planning on boostin my 05 civic but i hear our auto trannys are weak as **** haha and i want to build up or upgrade or whatever so the tranny could handle the extra power it will be gettin later on. Ive read the Turboing autotransmision sticky thread in the faq, and read about the tci overhaul kit but i know nothing about trannys and i went to there site, and i looked at the overhaul kits but they dont have model specific ones so i wouldnt know which one to get. Same with the Torque Converter i belive i would need one of those but i dont know which one to order, so if anyone could gimme a hand that would be greatly apriciated. Thanks.

does your tranny slip at all? Did it ever slip from 2-3rd before you were boosted?
I have my TCI-auto kit right now, i just dont have it installed.
I can post pictures if anyone wants to see what it comes with.

It doesn't slip at all, but then i would say im fairly conservative on how i drive after all im almost 38, 3 kids and a wife
It does however hang in between gears for a split second @ WOT. But im sure this is a design issue of the tranny not it slipping as hte RPM doesnt climb at all it just is SLOOOOOOOW between usually the 2-3 shift. But ive found that if you ease off the throttle @ about 6000 rpm you get a faster shift. I suppose with a little reseacrh it could be modified to cure this. Im not sure if the TCI kit addresses this or not. I would think it had something to do with the line pressurer possible the oriffice size for the 3rd gear clutch pack.

thats right I was running 13psi daily sometimes 16psi on the TCI kit . I had the TCI Auto Master overhaul kit and the torque converter as well as a tiptronic controller . Stage 2 DSS axles
