Question Blown?

I've got 50,000 miles on my engine, would a 55 shot Zex hurt it any farther if used properly? I was just lookin for anyone that has blown the block or had detonation in the d17's....preciate the responses...

Long as you don't lean out and run premium gas, you should be good to go.

yeah don't go dry a wet kit is safer. Nitrous is good you just have to take the proper precautions just like any type of forced induction

u might want to add an air fuel gauge( the good one that have a wideband o2 sensor) for pre caut. i use to run nitrous in my talon and had mine hooked up in a way if my a/f went under a pre set setting that it would stop it from flowing( i had an bottle opener) also one more thing make sure after the first time u use it check ur plugs they tell u alot of info.

I dont' trust dry kits at all. I just have a problem with them because they don't add fuel which presents a problem, especially with our cars stubborn ECU. Get a wet kit

WHOA WHOA WHOA!!! IK16's??? That 2 steps hotter than stock! You want like an IK22 or IK24. 22's are 1 step colder than stock.

If you run a hotter plug, it will be more prone to detonate.

^^^ Haha yeah I was going to say something because IK16's didn't look right because I see everyone with turbo or nitrous having IK22's. Im not familiar with the IK plugs though because I use NGK coppers and wasn't sure

Yeah, no reason not to get a wet kit. Install is a little harder, but not by a great margin. Even with the wet kit you are still gonna wear your motor though. I was thinking about getting it a while back but then realized it costs a good amount in the long run, cause you need extra stuff. But then again, you could spend like 500 bucks for 50whp on a used NX kit, now I gotta becareful...Its comin back

grammar?

i was doing the 50 but and the stuff go with the boom and the things that splash and crinkle then poof with smoke with 75.

^^^ That is what your post looks like to me.

If you blew up your intake manifold with nitrous, then you either #1. installed something wrong, #2. ran the wrong jets and went lean, or #3. dont know how to drive and pegged the limiter with the nitrous on for like 10 minutes.
