i was actually going to copy what you did with your block guard, but my friend has some nice high flow block guards at his store that i can trade mine for. The coolant passages are much larger. it should be enough to eliminate any hot-spots on the head.
i had my block decked after they installed the sleeves, so i know its flat.

i dropped the whole motor and rotating assembly off at a good race shop. i said f*ck it and i am letting the pros assemble the motor. It is getting blueprinted, balanced, etc.
Last time I had this much fun some furniture got broken!

good, you are paying alot i bet, but you are also doing the smart thing. one fully (well) built motor is alot less in money and time than a built motor and a replacement after it blows up lol.
seriously, good luck with the surgery. I hope you get better quick. But you are young and seem to be active from your low weight so your body will heal pretty quick. just eat healthy and eat enough.

actually, the guys are cutting me a deal. they built the motor for my vette and my 56 chevy. and we picked up the notor for the 56 from them today when i dropped mine off.
balancing is $180, hoaning is $50, fitting pistons is $50, and assembly is $175
not too bad
