K20a swap reliability?
Is this a reasonable thing to expect? I want to do a k20a swap into my 01 civic ex. Will it be a reliable swap? What kind of driveability probs would i run into? I commute but also run this car around for fun.
its either do this swap with the vic i have or buy a s2000, what should i do ?

A stock motor is a stock motor. I can't see it being any less reliable than it was when it was in the car it came out of. As long as its done right, all the wiring checks out and no corners are cut, it should run like a Honda.
I spend way too much time on this website

any car that has a swapped in motor is going to have some kind of problems you will expect to be in the shop every once in a while to get thengs retightened or tinkered with
just get the S2000

a swap done right will be as reliable as it was in the stock car. But If you gave me a choice of swap or s2k ....I would be rollin the s2000

that said, my car is not quiet inside. far from it. it's fun, but if you drive it daily the drone of 3k rpms does get old. i'd probably take the s2k myself, all things the same. but they aren't, an s2k costs more than a swap.
^ I've had loose fuel lines that leaked gas, but that's because the hose clamps weren't tight enough. That can happen to anyone.
Other than that ... no problems ... no engine check lights. (which is very strange because I'm running a race header without a cat).
my car is very loud inside as well ... yet quiet outside. Not sure why ... I have a stock itr axleback and it's very quiet from the outside. Only a little louder than a stock G35 I'd say (except when I hit vtec)
ah yes ... and if you are worried about smog and don't wanna go through the hassles, I'd say just get an s2k

^^ It probably due to added vibrations..
After going turdo, my Acura is much louder inside, then it used to be. Before turbo it was "Lexus like" when cruising, very quiet, only silk engine tone. Now its all opposite - you hear turbine wistling, BOV exhailing and exhaust barking at the same time, but I almost cant hear my engine!

300+ reliable whp
Plus a 75 shot of direct port nitrous for when you need it, perfect LOL

75 shot of direct port nitrous? why not just go for a wet shot instead? im pretty sure s2000's have pretty beefed up internals, especially the ap2's.
I read up on them awhile back. With a new hg, and clutch, I think they can handle like 450 whp, but that is not very reliable.
300whp s/c would be very very reliable, and a 75 shot would be perfect for the track/racing. Just a wet shot would not be as safe because it is not evenly distributed to each cylinder.
