lol yea you need an aftermarket cam gear. i think the only decent one is by aem. make sure you get the 5 bolt model. the 3 bolt will slip over time. then its a matter of loosening bolts and turning the wheel to whatever +/- you want.
i understand that the distributer is controled by the inlet cam..rite? so i need to adjust the inlet cam n retard it or advance it? no dynos in my country people so id be workin on rules of thumb!!! Ill be runing 7 psi n to be on the safe side u need to retart almost a degre of timing with each pound of boost ..so do i retard the camtiming 6-7 degrees???
holy crap guys, this is a case of the blind leading the blind. This has been discussed a million times over. Cam timing is not the same as ignition timing. Leave the cam alone. With 5 pounds the factory ignition timing will prolly be ok with no.7 plugs. Any higher than that and you should take at least a half degree out for every pound of boost, depending on how good or bad your tuning is. If I were you Id invest in an e-manage with all the harnesses for boost, ignition, and fuel control, bare minimum, toss in a set of rsx injectors too. If there are no dynos in your area you desperately need a wideband datalogger. The cost of boosting doesnt appear that bad at first, but you will find out how expensive it can be. Taking shortcuts is how you find out the hard way. You wind up screwing up your car, dishing out more dough to fix it, and then buying the stuff you should have bought in the first place anyways. Many of the other boosted members will agree with me on this.

depending on the quality of the fuel you have, you can safely run between 7-9 psi with the correct plugs.
If you run some plugs like Iridium IK26's or autolite racing AR-3932's, then you can actually get away with a little more on 93+ octane.
And remember, buy the best quality gas you can. Do not get gas from arco or some mom and pop store. I stick with Chevron and Unocal.
Also, to retard the timing, you need some sort of engine management like an emanage, AEM, split second, etc.

emange or ems is the only way
You cannot adjust ignition timing with a cam gear
btw......this has be discussed many times....all you have to do is use the search function at the top of this page.
