Still needs more tuning.. right towards the end of the run like around 8000 the motor is not getting enough air.. so once i get the bigger TB in we go back to the dyno again.. right now i am using the base TB cause the TPS off my type S throttle body broke off
I know this is old ... but oh well.

the Type S and base rsx/ep3 throttle bodies are all the same size iirc.

also, even though your dyno is listed at 201 whp, I'm not sure if I trust that ...

here is a link to a guy's 05 type S dyno ... his only mods are injen cai and exhaust and his car put down 217 whp, 156 wtq. http://forums.clubrsx.com/showpost.p...4&postcount=97

obviously, I don't trust that ... not even type R's or k24/k20 frank's can put down that much power with only intake and exhaust.

I've seen Mustang dynos read super low and other mustang dynos read super high (as noted in this case) ...

for consistancy, I recommend going to a Dynapak or Dynojet

well if thats the case then why is that my ep3 TB almost able to fit inside my type s one??... diameter is way smaller... i wasted $300 just to find that out the hard way..thats also the reason why a tps from a ep3/base will not fit a type s... its fits just spins the wrong direction

as for the dyno we have here... it close to what our 3 other project cars have dynoed... before we got this mustang dyno we had to drive our project cars to cali and it was also dyno tuned on a mustang dyno... now the same 3 cars that ran on this dyno can within +/- 5hp or so.. give or take...

Mike says he measured the ep3, type s and type r throttle bodies and they are all 64mm.

I would dyno on a dynojet or dynapak then. driving to cali to dyno on another mustang dyno doesn't really make sense if you're going for consistancy

well like i was saying.. at the time we dynoed our project cars we didnt have a dyno here which is the reason we drove out to cali...

but i am just stating that the different mustang dyno's we went to in cali compared to the one we got here were pretty close/consistent to what we had in cali originally

looks kinda wrong to me...

if you compare where the throttle cables would go on each one, they would be going in opposite directions from eachother ...

some of the sensors facing different directions ...

well one of em is upside down.. on the ep3's the throttle cable is on the left of the TB which when placed on the motor is towards the front core support of the car....

the type s is reversed where the throttle cable is on the right side of the TB and is away from the core support.. the tps is now against the core support..

geez how many facts do i have to show before you actually believe me.. want me to take pics of my ep3 and the engine bay?? or how about my friends rsx... or take a pic of my engine too while i am at it with the type s throttle body right next to it again

it's not that I'm not believing you, but there are people who have measured the different throttle bodies with vernier calipers and they said they are all 64mm. I am just looking for some very concrete evidence to disprove them ... don't take any offense, because it is not the case that I am hard-headed, it's just that I need something very concrete in order to change what I think about it.

Anyway, here is a pic of an 04 Type S throttle body from the acura site.

here is a TB from an EP3.

it seems they are nearly the exact same ... but upon further searching, I found that this TB is from a base rsx ... which is the same TB you had stock.

It seems that if yours really is smaller, then base rsx TB's are indeed smaller, yet the EP3 and Type S remain the same.

That also just further proves the point I had earlier that your engine is indeed closer to the 160ps version of the jdm k20a's.

did you happen to check out your transmission code yet?

haha... like i said earilier.,.. i no loonger have the original tranny so i cant get you the code...

as for the point of how you got the 160ps version... remember that my motor did not have a TB when i got it.. so i got one of a base rsx and used that cause that was the only thing i could get at the time... also note that 2 of my tuners said that my motor is not getting enough air which is why i need a type s or basically anything bigger than what i have on there now
