stroked= ? hp
stroked= ? hp
What % hp increase can you get with a stroker set up? I haven't seen kits available for K20/24's yet, but I'm sure it will happen soon. For instance, if somebody swapped in a k24 with a stroker kit that increased displacement to 2.8L, how much hp could one expect?

you really cant give a % gain. There are too many variables to calculate.
sure you can say "ok, it increased by .4L, thats about a 17% increase. So you will see a 17% increase in power."
But thats not true. You have to take much more than displacement into account. Like the cylinder head. Maybe the ports arent efficient enough to fill that much displacement. Maybe stroke is too long, and at your old redline the piston is outrunning the flame front.
You simply cant calculate it. But since you want a number, heres one. I think it will net about 18 whp, and probably about 35 ft/lbs. And it will only spin to 6800 rpm
i am basing this off nothing. just a simple guess

I think it would really hurt the top end of the motor which is the most important part. It would probably feel like a sunfire with a 75 shot on it hehe. 2.8 is a big honda 4 cyl. I bet if it worked good you'd have heard about it by now.

what turboengn said, plus as you increase stroke you start to drastically increase piston speed, along with increasing horizontal loads on the rods, pistons, and cyl wall... was just reading about this in one of my MANY magazines stacked on the back of the sh*tter
there is a formula i think to calculate the piston speed and there is an ideal range for certain applications, i'll go sit on the great white sh*tter and read up and get back with ya ...haha

You don't have to wait for a kit dude......you can this stuff done custom. Although, it is a complete waste on a sohc motor IMO.
