TSI KIT for my 02 civic EX
Just bought the tsi kit(1,650 dollars on ebay) It was a steal. It comes with the fuel system option with 2 injectors & interface block, tsi injection control and turbo timer and injector control system settings. The other option was to get the fuel system with apexi vafc II, turbo timer and boost guage but I didnt have a choice in the matter....My question is, is this fuel system sufficient? I dont race at the tracks so Im not planning on pushing this turbo past my engines limits or mine. And the last question is...(Before answering some condescending response to this question, consider 2 things...(I have searched and read most of this forum and this sites threads for answers and have read many diy's on emanage, injectors, etc., and #2. Its cool to pick on a noob sometimes, but I am a noob, so be gentle, I just wanna be friends.)
OKay, that being said, I am a daily driver, but i want a reliable turbo kit on my car. However I AM NOT A REAL RACER RICER MO FO. Im just having some fun with my bolt on mods and my weak d17a2 engine. Do I really need to have to upgrade injectors, cam gears, clutch, fuel pump...etc.
I will do it for the ricer inside me, but I just dont want to overkill a good time.
Thanks for the helpful answers.

I am running the TSI Extreme kit at 12 psi with the 2 injectors and standoff block that came with it. Overall the kit has been solid and i've had no issues minus tuning it.

just DONT use their settings they give you. You will run hella lean. Start rich and go from there if you are using a wideband, if nto, just bring it to shop to tune it. Its not too hard for the shop to tune, its like a afc, but a little better.

no, just take the tranny apart. If youve never done it, or bled a hydraulic line, DONT DO IT! I got my car running this morning after over 2.5 months of dowtime. I tried installing the clutch, and it sucked. I can do it now in about 3-4 hours with an extra set of hands.
it can be expensive to pay for it to be done, so I would hit up people from wherever your located. Go to the local forums, and ask some people if they'd like to help, or if the HAVE done it before.

How can I tell if my turbo is ball bearing or not. I know its the M24=t25 with a .48 outlet but does anyone have the TSI upgraded turbo or know what physical characteristics a ball bearing turbo has, not just that it spools faster or it reaches boost quicker. Please help guys thanks!

I got my kit from somewhere else and it was cheaper than that I paid 2300 for my extreme kit and that was with my gauges and pod also. I think thats a bit high for the TSI kit but as the BB part goes i'm not sure on how to tell really either

he wants to know if he can tell if its dual ball bearing by looking at it and people have alredy said they dont thinkso. jbrown your best bet is to call companies that sell it and ask or to call the turbo company itself and ask if you can check measurements or something to tell.
eye see you, how are you able to handly 12psi on a fully stock motor? you mustve done somehitng? head studs even? a really really good tune and kind of lean mixture?

Cant give my kit 10, but a very fair 7.5/10.
Reason why, I need some minor things to sort out. E.g minor vibrations and some clunking (from IC pipes) during at certain RPM's during acceleraiton.
TSI is a basic kit with good quality and fitment. Yeas, you will sweat when installing, tight fit, agree, but everything fits and TSI customer service wont let you down.
can someone tell me what specific pieces are tight fits or hard to install and what causes it? (whats it tight between) ive asked alot of people and they just say oh its no big deal dont worry
[QUOTE=03-Acura-1.7-EL]turbokits.com drooped the price for the extreme t25 kit to $2599. I remember they used to retail it for $2899, at a time when I was looking for the kit....
But I know streetlevelperformance.com can beat this price as well...

Tight fit = small engine bay.
Parts fit OK, no worries, its just a matter of navigating in the engine bay. All crumped.
I would say IC was difficult, until I desided not to drill anything, but use zip ties (triple layer) to hang IC on the front bumber mounts.
Hold tight and doesnt move, plus all IC piping connected together as advertised.

i hated that noise to i took some time and zip tied the pipes so they wont bang againest the control arms and the most annoying one was the downpipe by the pulley...you can zip tie them away BUT watch out for wheel clearance...might have to drive and adjust once or twice...
