Smoke help, need some input.
K My car is tuned, sf turbo, rsx injectors, the whole works, been boosing at 5 to 6 psi for about 2 months now, everything was fine till this moring. STarted the car and somthing told me to look back towards the rear of the car, and guess what i found, white smoke comming from the exhaust. Im like mother *&*89 cause i already know its probley the head gasket or a crack in the head. How many people on here have had good luck with the honda nippon gasket? I went to honda today and talked to the techs since i use to work with them , and there seeing more and more of 2k1 civic with blown headgaskets around 50,000 miles. WHo else is having problems with there head gaskets? and does anyone have and links besides making a copper head gasket for aftermarket gaskets?
Let meknow
Jeff

Sweet deal ill give them a call on monday. When your gasket finally gave up did you happen to look at the tops of your pistions to see if coolant was washing the tops of them?
Hey jeff I just blew my headgasket last night same problem as you and i was only boosting 5 pounds entering the freeway going up hill o well i was going to be doing a head swap after vacation anyway so it doesn't matter to me i ordered the nippon leakless and now i want to get those headstuds if they really work.
I ordered the head studs right now and I ordered the Nippon leakless gasket also. I seriously don't care because i was swapping the head pretty soon i just hope it doesn't happen again. My mechanic said we can o-ring the headgasket and it will never happen again what do you guys think about that?
you can O ring the cylinders but if you do that you can't use a 3 sheet head gasket cause it won't set even and if it leaks again it will be in between the sheets.
A one sheet cooper gaskes will be ideal when o ring but no one makes it.

I don't know when people will understand that when you put 150 psi of fuel pressure to an injector, it will cause an inconsistent spray pattern and it will cause lean conditions....it's not that difficult of a concept, at least I don't think. But as long as people are using shortcuts for their fuel management and running in unsafe fuel conditions, problems are going to happen.

I had mine tuned by 2 different people. the second person is a hondadata tuner, and he knew the emanagelike the back of his own hand. Timming was ret, injectors were all set up correctly ran good. Just the headgasket is the weak link.

What would you prefer to blow, a headgasket or a piston? Cause if you detonate, one will go. Headgaskets are ALOT easier to change than a block or piston. O-Ring it and you choose the piston or block.... Think of a HG as a safety fuse for the motor.
I would strongly urge against the o-ring. And I agree with others, this guy has given you nothing but problems and an underpowered car. Find someone new.
Can a member from AZ help this guy out with someone that knows what they're doing??

I honestly don't know wtf you people are doing. I have almost 60,000 miles on my car. I have been boosted for 15 months and i run 9-10 psi daily. I am still using the SF fuel system, stock injectors with no tuning and i am still on my stock HG......i have zero problems. I admit that i may have run lean and have done some damage to my engine, but who on this site that is boosted hasn't ????
