Rep Power: 271 Since i was turbo!
Ever since the day i put the turbo on problems were created. I spent so much time on the installtion to at the end finding a problem with the return line. I fixed that the car wouldn't boost. So i fixed all the problems and thought man now i am gonna have all these great stories to tell on the forum. Wrong my car check engine light went on, so i get the missing link and that was fixed boosting and getting ready to be tuned. As i go to get tuned they tell me they want me to get a better return spot so that the oil wont build back up into the turbo. So i do that. Since then i have had so many misfiring. It sucks. The car drives like **** and won't boost higher than 1.7 psi until i let off the gas it jumps up to 3.4. I am gettting so frustrated. Then tonight as i am driving i downshift to second slowing down as i looked back a huge cloud of smoke was out of my mufflers i parked the car for 15 minutes drove it home no smoke. I come home and there is oil all over my exhaust. So now i am thinking the reason i fixed it is so oil wont go back into the turbo and i think thats what is happening. This fvcking sucks the big one i feel like selling my kit at times and this is one of them. So much money spent for problems thats all it is problems. I just wanted to let my frustrations out because right now i am sad and mad at the same time.

Rep Power: 585 welcome to the world of boost
I have been pretty luck, i really haven't had too many problems. I too feel like selling my kit. I would rather have a factory boosted car.

Rep Power: 0 Your experience is what I imagined I'd go through if I tried it. Without the potential to produce a fast car, I just figured why give up the relibility of the Honda and add all kinds of problems. If I wanted 160whp I would be better off trading in my Civic for a RSX-S and get better looks, sweeter interior, 6spd and better handling along with it. If a basic turbo 'kit' is 3500 (guessing) I'm sure I'd be spending atleast 5000 and very likely more by the time it's done and tuned just to get the whopping 160hp. There just isn't enough to be gained from our little D17 stock engines to make it worth the money and problems. The money for the turbo system would put me right in RSX-S price range.. a bit short, but very close.
I'm sorry to hear that you're having all kinds of troubles though. I do feel bad for you. It's a lot of money to put up, and it's going to take a lot more to really get anywhere I'd imagine.

Rep Power: 271 ^^^^^^ That pic on your signature is awesome hot girl and hot car, Ne ways nitrous is a cheap way to go fast but also a good way to get rid of engines rather fast. If you want speed with reliability then turbo all the way. Once i figure out all these problems i know i will love it. I have already learned so much about mechanics just by installing the turbo myself now lets see after i am tuned more how everything goes just a update as of now my only problem is check engine light System Too Rich so thats a good sign

Rep Power: 327 Well if you're too rich, then you obviously aren't tuned, no wonder you're having problems. I think alot of people still overlook tuning and think it's ok, but it isn't.

Rep Power: 0 I have been very lucky. My car was a pain the first week or two, than I worked most of it out. Car drives awesome, boost 10psi, and havent broken anything. Once you get to where you want to be, its worth it. My car has been down for over 4 weeks, but only due to my clutch slave cylinder. And thats not busted from boosting. Well sort of, my intake sits right no top of the slave, and it busted it.
I have learned about 700% more than I knew 3-4 months ago. Once you start fixing things here and there, and learn what happens from certain probs, it gets easier. It definately is NOT FUN trying to figure stuff out when you arent sure why things are happening. I wish you the best of luck, and possibly I can go to tucson and check it all out. Maybe see why things are doing what they're doing if you need some help. I can bring my girls grand cherokee down there, cuz I am not driving through the 120 degree desert with my car, lol. let me know though
sorry about all that, it sucks big time, i know.
peace

Rep Power: 0 Um if you run the emange without getting tuned it still runs extremely rich just by using the injector correction table. I know i have spent 2 times at the dyno shop because my gas millage sucked, reason being it made it run super rich in the middle and lean towards the top end. You need to get it tuned.

Rep Power: 327 Well, I can't speak for you guys' setups but I'm running 440's and using the injection correction with no real tuning and having no cel for running rich, so it works for me.

Rep Power: 327 Oh, and Jeff, what are you using for your fuel management? If you can't get a consistant spray pattern from your injectors, you may not be sized correctly....either that or your tuner may not know how to use the emanage properly.
