This is to all the people who invested arround 4000$ and more in their engines, turbo or swap. Did any of u guys ever regret putting that money into a civic? I was having this long discussion with a guy and he was explaining to me how he finds usuless to invest in civics when in the end we could buy a BMW or WRX-STI, s2000, etc. with the money we would have saved up. Anyways let me know what you guys think because im not sure anymore if I should be doing the swap I want.
A Evo S2000 Bmw cost 30000 around there lets say. The civic you can get a new one for around 15,000 spend 15000 more on it it will look bad *** and a swapped turbo will beat those cars a turbo with internals might beat those cars so in the end i don't regret it at all they are all bad *** cars but for me those are future cars that right now i do not need

I dont really know whats been up latley but ive pretty much lost all intrest in my car. I mean im not going to let it fall apart or anything, but i cant justify spending thousands of dollors on it like i used to. I still keep it clean.

Its only for a short while though, then I see the K20a under my hood and that all goes away. I agree with tfnaaf, anybody can make mustang or camaro go fast. But I want to do something that will make people go
I always said that when I graduate college I'm going to get an M3. Now that its happend, I think a k20a would keep me happy and be a lot cheaper. Not to mention in the long run I need to save money for more important things like a house, marriage, baby, etc.

no buying a car is already a "LOST INVESTMENT"...buying a beemer (35,000-32,000 "depeciation" around der a year) and such will depreciate in value more and thus loosing more of your money...on the other hand an evo, s2000, civics, or like a subaru, they might hold up to their value...but putting on mods will only make your car the way you want it to be AND still holding on its value.
...think about it...the money you lose on depreciation on a luxury car is already enough money for a mod plus the depreciated value of civic (15,000-13,000 around their a year)... buying a car is about not losing too much money on its value and not buying name!

if we didnt spend our money on car parts we would spend it on dirtbikes or boats or jetskis. all of these are a waste of money aswell. i mean we work to have fun so if you enjoy working on your car spend money on your car.

Agree, my 2 cents..
You modify car - enjoy it.
Before you sell it, return it back to stock.
Sell mods separetly on this forum
This fun + business opportunities, 2 in 1, plus its good experience.
And at the end you have car sold and some spare cash...nice..

Me personally, I wouldn't invest that much money on a civic. Because after 10-15G's worth of turbo's, rims, kits, sounds, and paintjobs, in the end it's still a Honda Civic to me. Don't get me wrong here, I love my car. But wouldn't you guys wanna upgrade to a G35, TSX, M3, or if your'e lucky enough, a Ferrari or a Lambo.
yea, if i would have bought an evo....i would have put the same amount of money into that as well. I dont regret it at all....my cars been a bitch to me, but i love it. It's great, plus its about orginality. And of course, you only live once, so true
nope, i like my car. still around 28mpg boosted, good looking, and fun to drive without being too harsh... and i can fit 4 people if i really had to.
if i wanted to buy a $50k car, i could, but i'd rather not pay insurance on a M3. believe me, i checked. i'm 21, and it's bad. also, having enough money to buy something doesn't mean you always want to. plus, i'm still probably $10k short of the cost of an EVO/STi/G35

I wish i invested my money into a better motor, mainly in a different car.

I personally have had more expensive cars and I find that I like the civic better. Its nimble in the corners and now its fast on the straights as well. I love Hondas and the only thing I might do when my car is paid for is buy a used S2000 to mod. Not as an upgrade though I will keep my civ because I LOVE it. It would mostly be because I always loved those cars as well. Its worth it to someone like me who only wants to be around cars, mod cars, drive cars, race cars and dream about cars. I do nothing but think about cars constantly. It doesnt matter if I owned an F1 car Id still try to mod it lol. If I bought/could afford a ferrari I would have the thing cut apart as soon as I got it home. I cant see busting my *** off every day if Im not gunna do something I enjoy too. For all I know I could be dead tomorrow. It makes my life worth living, how could I ever regret that??

I regret spending money on appearance stuff such as $1700 on wheel and tires. Wasted money for me cause yeah they looked nice, but they didn't make me any faster and that's why I really mod my car. My car will be paid off in 2yrs, then I will get something a little more luxurious for daily and turn the civic into a track car. I paid $14000 out the door brand new for my vic and spent maybe $2500 on actual performance mods. So for under $17k I have a soon to be 14sec car and once I up the shot to a 50 or 75 I should have a 13sec car. Nothing else can compare to that and it is so fun to see the look on peoples face after you beat them in a stock looking civic.

I feelt he same way, but then I think.. I'd rather have SOME fun than be bored until I got my new car lol. Just boost fora while for me, than when the time comes, part out and buy a new car =)
I also dont regret getting the factory performance package hehe. Nothing rolls like factory wheels, the ride wasnt compromised, and not to mention I can say the outside is pretty much stock except for the rsx type r wing copy and cleared headlights. The package was a fair amount extra but I feel it was worth it because I dont like all kindsa shiny crap. We are an all business kinda honda crew. Its only money, cant take it to hell when I die.
mY FRIEND AND I HAVE THE SAME CONVERSATION EVRY DAY BUT WHEN WE GO TO THE TRACK OR THE LOCAL STREET RACE AND WE SEE ALL OF THESE HATCHS AND CIVIC'S IT JUST MAKES US FORGET EVERY PROBLEM THAT WE HAVE IN LIFE AND ENJOY OURSELFS...SO WE R STILL YOUNG AND WE CAN ENJOY OURSELFS UNTIL MY GIRL SAYS SHE'S LEAVING ME

for me, it's not having a car note, i paid for my car off the lot. And I'd rather be a 19 y/o male paying insurance on a boosted civic than a 19 y/o male paying insurance on something that already came with a turbo. Im going to school for mechanical engineering because I want cars to be part of the rest of my life and besides school, my car has been my biggest source of education. It's a hobby and it helps keep me sane. I keep saying that my next mod is my last...the problem is...in the 3 years that I've had my car, there have been countless things that have appeared on the market. If I continue to spend money AFTER I boost and do my rear disc brakes, thats when I'll admit that I have a problem.

i think it would be cool to have a wrx or something, the wrx would be my next car if i bought one. but a car like that has that expectation to be fast/handle well. if i swap, ill have a car that for under 20k would look stock (sleeper style is the only way to go), handle well, and be pretty quick overall. and no one really expects that outta a stock looking civic.
