Getting Screwed by MaxRev
Sorry if this is the incorrect place for this.
Ok on 1-6-05 after calling maxrev for about a week and emailing i finally get ahold of them and order a kit about 3000 dollars.
Said it would ship on 1-12-05 everything was instock except the turbo which would take a couple days to get.
I recieved the kit on 2-5-05 i think and waited a couple weeks to try putting this "bolt on kit" on which is the biggest bunch of BS i've ever heard, none of the pipes were close to fitting and were hitting a/c lines brake lines, the battery, no air intake filter or piping, wrong oil pan fitting, screw hole in the manifold was'nt tapped, missing bolts and nuts, no fuel stuff, the dumptube which i had to pay extra for that just dumps atmosphere went right in to the fans, the downpipe hung about4 inches below the car, the intercooler hung about 3 inches below the car, and on the website it shows that the pipeing and manifold and blow off come polished and when i recieved them the were raw exhaust piping and steel, the turbo was rusting after a couple days also.
Ok, so i call them they wanted me to keep my car in the shop without it for a couple weeks while they try to "eye" make me some new parts to hopefully ship while i shipped the parts back and forth until it worked, i said no, we went back and forth and finally got them to agree to return it, i sent if back the next day like on a thursday and they got it the following wednesday, i did'nt hear anything from them at all until about a week later, and we played phone tag, they never once answered the phone when i called them and always took them days to answer emails.
I finally started emailing them every day until they contacted me took over a week, and he kept saying its in the "process" well i gave it a week still nothing i finally start getting a lil attitude with them and finally after over a month of this i get a refund but i notice its about 500 dollars short, ok i said well 80 of that they said is for the shipping even tho i had to pay an extra 80 to ship the crap back. Well then he says "what no one contacted you and told you why its not all there, and was saying well something was scratched so we cant resail it so they charge me 150 for a part that they sell for 100 and charge me for labor to straighten the stuff up for some reason and did'nt tell me, they say that a couple couplers were missing and were going to charge me a restocking fee of 20% but "waived it"!
I tell them that thats wrong to charge me all that without even contacting me much less all the hell i was put thru for their mistakes and lack of communication.
In other words i WILL NEVER do business with them and recomend no one else mess with them, there kits are a rip off and they remind me and act just like Stafford Fabrication and all the stuff to do with them.
So i will contacting the proper authorities if i dont have the money first thing next week.

Not that I am defending Max Rev, but the possibility of the kit coming not fitting well, that's not cool and understandable.
The turbo rusting part, welcome to the world of turbos. THEY ALL DO! EVERY SINGLE ONE!
The couplers and bolts....kinda iffy. Those can be gotten for change at a local hope improvement store. I wouldn't go ape on that.
The raw material part, our kit comes raw too. We see the need more for performance than show.
Out kits are non-refundable. It is considered a custom fabrication piece and special order. If there is an issue with it, we will attempt to resolve it with you......simple. Each of our kits are hand made to order.
They also advertise it without any fuel items too, so not receiving it, is not a suprise.
Good luck.

Ok i already have the tsi kit which is a very good kit, comes with alot, i know the kits is for performance not looks but its the way they advertised it, advertised as being polished and chromed and isnt. to them this is a stocking item, and for them to resolve the issue of it not fitting would have meant a whole new kit, NOTHING FIT not even close, i got the tsi kit and had it on in a day. they are trying to charge me like 50 bucks for 2 couplings, i think for the price and what it comes with the tsi kit is the best deal for a daily driver and minor built car and more, kit came with every single item you need and it all fit perfectly and is all polished and lightweight aluminium and im not suprised it did'nt come with fuel stuff, just saying for the price its a ripp off, i could have made that kit myself for less than half the price, the quality of it was horrible, also it was advertised as a "COMPLETE BOLT ON" kit and by just putting this kit on at 6psi over 250rwhp

I'm not sure what their web site says - but if it says "bolt on ready to run" kit - than they are at fault. That is patently false advertising. Maxrev screwed a few other folks on here over too - I can't believe their still selling **** kits after all of this time.....

first do the CC route, that will put the squeeze on them when they dont get they money. for the hell of it just do the BBB and see if that helps, most people just ignore it, but its worth a shot.

I cant believe anybody actually bought a MaxRev kit after all the probs people had on here. Peoples who fit, really liked their kit and made good power, but they are full of it. Do the CC route first, and the BBB if nothing happens.
