Nitrous 01 civic help

Hey, I have a 2001 civic ex. My cold air intake and my exhaust is done, I will be getting my header soon. I was wondering if anyone has any information on installing a zex wet nitrous 55-75 hp shot? Will it ruin my engine with the mods that are on it? What parts would I need to upgrade is I had the nitrous installed? Also, how do you use it? I heard the rpm's have to be over 3000 and it cant be in 5th gear. Stock I have 127 hp, with my i/h/e and nitrous, how much horsepower do u think i might be at? thanks, tim

well, nitrous was cahnged to run on stock cars... that was the idea of it. and if you car is in good shape, you should have to change nothing to run it. It will work great on your car.. but only recommend a 55 shot. i used a 65 shot all day on my b18c. you will get a much better response from the nitrous once you ahve the headers on...

as far as when to use it. i activated mine at wot. so no matter what gear or what rpm, as long as i was at wot, it was engaged. and who said you cant use it in 5th gear? that doesnt make sense?

I was reading some information in the forums, and they said not to shoot in 5th gear. I have no experience with nitrous, is it dangerous? what is WOT? how much horsepower do you think I might be running also?

WOT = wide open throttle.
The Zex kit is designed to only spray at wot. You can go to Zex's website and download their installation instructions to get a feel for what is involved.
A 55 shot is supposed to add 55 hp at the wheels. Whether it really does or not is another story. It will probably be pretty close.
BTW, don't forget to change your spark plugs.
