K24 in a 01 CIVIC?

hey i was wondering, since you can get a k20 in a 01 Vic almost with no problems, then can you get a k24 in with some mods. i found a CRVs motor at a place where they sell used motors and parts. its very cleen in a warehouse and isnt selling cuz noone needs a k24. but i would like to buy it cuz my friend works there and he can get the 02 motor for only $700. thats a damn deal.its $1300 if you arent employed there. let me know if its possible. tnx.

you would have to get custom mounts and sub frame made, you don't need to do a k20 head swap, but the k20 head is vtec where the k24 is not. its kinda like how people used to but b16/b18 heads on b20's. just a new generation of tuning. alot of pro racers are running k24 w k20 head.

Along the same lines, since the K24 is a taller block and if you wanted to start with just the K24 and later swap the K20 head, I was curious if the EM2 hood would be able to close with the K24 in it. I know you already have to notch the hood for the power steering to clear.

yes with the enjo mounts
, and when you change heads it does not change the height of the engine

K24 Vtec is only available in the TSX. It has been said that you can use this head and then use a Type-S intake and throttle body to make it work.

Ok, I thought the head height was different between the k24 and k20, so then really it's only the block that's taller and not the head.

All K series have VTEC, as well as VTC.
