well the new OBX ones look strong to me and there's now external gate on them.
One top of that everyone says OBX and SSauto are the same person but i dont think so.
As long as it has the OBX plate welded on it, you should be ok. I have yet to see any on these thread posted with the bust mani's have a OBX name plate on them.
IMO i say OBX, yes, SSauto, no.

Well, I have not seen any problem with a GENUINE OBX-R Header (NOT an SSAUTOCHROME cheap imitation) on a D17.
I would like to see the opinions of people who actually have a Genuine OBX Turbo Manifold on a D17.

What I mean is that Genuine OBX Manifolds have better quality than those from SSAutoChrome no matter what many people say that SSAutochrome is the manufacturer of OBX's exhaust systems, I believe that's not true. And as stated earlier, I have not seen a Genuine OBX Turbo Manifold in the conditions of the manifolds posted in this and other posts, not even one. All I see is SSAutochrome crap. I don't see any OBX Plate nowhere in those cracked manifolds.

oh my. getting NA aftermarket header from OBX or SSautochrome is one thing.. its another to get a turbo manifold for it..
IMO OBX stuff isnt so bad for the price.
SSautochorme, the infamous ebay seller.... doesnt manufacture any of these I think.. they just get their name stamped on them.
sometimes it might not even be OBX stuff. could be another generic brand that they had their name stamped on the plates.
anyways, i wouldnt go cheap on turbo manifolds.. they're rather important part.. heh.

Even if OBX doesn't manufacture their manifolds, they do have quality inspectors to approve the items. And Yes, SSAutochrome is a manufacturer of their own manifolds and NA Headers. And I've seen myself some SSAutochrome headers for other cars, and the welds and visual quality are not even close to the welds of Genuine OBX NA Headers, despite the design looks pretty similar.
CAMBO: I don't see any OBX plate on that Manifold neither.
Anyways, I believe that the OBX turbo Manifold design looks like it have a better flow than many other turbo manifolds in the market for the D17. Their Welds looks even better than most of the welds of those cracked Manifolds that people think are OBX.
And, as stated before.... Havn't seen any D17 with that manifold having any problems yet.
I do believe that when doing a Turbo Setup you have to pick not the cheaper parts, but the better proven quality, but I don't see real quality problems on GENUINE OBX products.
I've plans to make my 7thGen Turbo with a custom setup, and I really would like the advise of all of you who have done this on your cars, I do appreciate the experience of all of you, but I think I have the responsability to research and validate all the information you can provide; and I believe that this one have made people not to trust on OBX because some people MAY HAVE bought immitation products with lower quality than Genuine OBX, even knowing it or maybe not.

all i can say is that you get what you pay for...there are sooooo many factors in a turbo kit that can go wrong and screw up your car, so why try to be cheap and get cheap parts...yes, we all want to save money in places that we can...the best way to do that is to try and do some of the work yourselves..dont try and do it with parts....if someone is wanting a cheap turbo kit, the just buy some nitrous...you will be better off....

proven parts usually come with quality, OBX or whoever the discussion is about here are NOT EXACTLY THE FIRST NAME THAT COMES TO MIND WHEN U DO A TURBO. ALSO yea a kit can be put together for 2999, BUT LOOK AT IT, does it come with good ****. if u pick the well known names/brands/companies, more than likely ur **** is goign to be good. it aint going to blow a weld while ur driving. SO TO ALL OF YOU, STOP GOING THE CHEAP *** ROUTE
