Forgedred

I'm slowly building up a setup for my d17A2, now I pretty much have everything together except for one question. Pistons/Rods. Now I honestly don't know how many people here have run high boost on stock internals, but I'm thinking its not the way to go. I'm looking to run 8psi daily, maybe 10psi for racing. Before installation I'm going to have the head port N polished for around $1,200. Would I be needing Forged Pistons/Rods for this application? Cause I've heard our rods are kinda weak on the a2. So yea. Any comments?

i'm pretty sure that people are running 8 low, 12 high boost with some really good tuning and alcohol. no internals. search through this subforum for more answers.

I've seen countless people on here saying they have stock internals running 12psi for years. I doubt 12psi for years will last though. Something has to give.

OK im personally against injecting anything besides AIR AND FUEL into the chambers.

if ur taking the engine apart, build the darn thing, if ur going as far as pistons and rods, u better sleeve it or ull regret it later. rods are tiny stock BTW

so u wanna void ur warranty huh ???

$1,200 for just a PnP........do they include vaseline with that ???

You can run 8-10psi daily tuned........but after a couple yrs, if ur lucky.........something is gonna give.

PM supermex about rods and pistons........he has a hookup.

dood youre screwing yourself just by keeping sohc. if you really want to run more boost, try water injection and lowering the compression
