Actually not trying to flame any company but Hondata's reason for not developing anything for the D17 is purely by choice which in fact is a unprofessional decision because like it or not, the d17's are what the 01+ Civics come with and there are thousands of them around. So for a company not to want to cash in on that market is unfortunate....
I want us as a community to show AEM some intrest so that they could resolve Honda's Multiplexor system so that their stand alone engine management system could retain our factory AC and temp guage and then guess what........... Hondata would be the furthest thing from our minds...

you hit the nail right on the head.
All this "its hard to develop for the D17" is complete bullshit
Its their choice, and they choose not to develop anything for our cars. Nothings stopping them. IMO they won't develop a D17 ECU until the sales of the older D series ECU's cease and then they have to adapt to continue to do buisness.

my thoughts exactly^
See right now they are using a simple formula to decide if they are gonna make a D17 ECU or not.
That formula is cost of development vs. Potential Profit, they are going to wait until the potential profit its greater than the cost of development.
What they are forgetting to factor in is public relations.
Instead of being nice and developing the ECU now, they choose to wait and develop the ECU until they have to (when D16 and D15 ECU sales dry up)
So now you have people like me that refuse to by a Hondata product because of the fact that they are being *******s to the 7thgen community. This means decreased sales and bad public relations

right on got boost...it is purely pathetic. But thats how companies perform, but its alright. While a lot of members on this board are pushing the performance of their cars maybe companies like hondata will notice the potential and more importantly the same drive and desire to modify our cars that people with D15s and D16s have
